Keymaster Games’ PARKS Takes You On A Wild Ramble
August 13, 2019 by brennon
Keymaster Games are now taking pre-orders for PARKS. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, this wonderfully relaxed-looking board game is going to be taking you on a trip through the National Parks of America.
This game features absolutely beautiful card art which shows off the various National Parks. You will then play as two hikers who are looking to make their way across the different trails during the four seasons of the year. Your focus in the game is to make sure that you visit as many of the different locations available to you on your travels, visiting mountains, rivers and more because when you get to the end of the trail you cash in tokens gained from these locations to earn points.
Gear and other elements like canteens, for example, will help you on your way, making sure you can trek for longer before finding camping sites to set up for the night. The game seems like an idyllic experience where you're as much enjoying the locations and artwork as you are looking to gain points.
As a big fan of nature and wandering myself this seems like a game which would be right up my alley. It reminds me a lot of games like Tokaido which also had you wandering across the board looking to take in the sights and create the best experience for your little characters.
Will you be considering PARKS for your collection?

Interesting… beautiful Illustrations. Not played Tokaido but I am really enjoying playing the copy of Flügelschlag (Wingspan) I bought at the Berlin Brettspiel Con in July… so PARKS might be the next big Natural History boardgame.
@brennon – which reminds me, talking about boardgames, looking forward to more boardgame, roll for insight articles and Let’s Play Videos from @cassn @ludicryan and @dracs – are they all taking a well-deserved Summer Break at the monent, leaving you alone to cover board- and cardgames news?
Also, if my eyes do not deceive, is that a copy of Pocket Mars on the pile of games in the background of your Weekender home studio? Have you played it? If so, what do you think?
That is Pocket Mars in the background yes. It’s good fun. Nice and simple and doesn’t take very long to play. I’ve only ever played it with two players though so not dived right into it with friends proper yet.
