Added Wizards of the Coast's 'How to Play' video above!
Wizards of the Coast are continuing their spate of board game releases with a new one from the world of Forgotten Realms in Dungeons & Dragons. Check out Lords of Waterdeep below...
The game puts you in the boots of a few of the shadowy masters behind the scenes of Waterdeep life. With cunning, rough justice and gold you have to make your stamp on the city and claim it for your own.
Lords of Waterdeep includes the following components:
- Game board
- Rulebook
- 5 card stock player mats
- 121 Intrigue, Quest, and Role cards
- 130 wooden cubes, pawns, and score pieces
- Wooden player markers
- Card stock tiles and tokens representing buildings, gold coins, and victory points
Is this a game you would be interested in?

Sounds kind of interesting, but I’m not really having it. A bit derivative actually. Until I see a proper review, I’ll be skeptical and treat this as a second rate game that tries to exploit the strengths of D&D fluff.
There’s an unboxing video and some first impressions of the game here:

I live on BGG – and BOW 🙂
I have all three recent D&D Board games (excluding Conquest of Nerath) and this was the first I’ve heard of this release!?! Thank you BOW!
Will I pick this up? Not sure! I’m not convinced yet that the theme will play that strong.
Though the price is reasonable!
Thanks for the video link, netdiver!
Added WotC’s How to Play video to the top of the story, check it out for their take on it too 🙂
BoW Ben
I have conquest of nerath and play it atleast once a month if not more…
The D&D style board games are a good time you will see atleast one of them being played at the game store at any given time.
Thanx for the heads up on this one I like the euro style it has 🙂
