Unboxing RuneWars: The Miniatures Game
The RuneWars Hobby Weekend with The Army Painter and Fantasy Flight Games is just around the corner and with that, we thought we'd not only look at some of the expansions planned for the game but also unbox the core product the attendees are going to be getting.
The box is chock full of awesome miniatures, tokens, chits and more as well as some great rules booklets and that all important Lore Guide. We can't wait to get some paint down on these and build our armies with you over the coming weekend of hobby awesomeness.
We still have a couple of tickets left for the event so make sure to snap them up if this game interests you and a relaxed weekend of hobby.

Justin also had a chance to sit down with Carlos from Corvus Belli to talk about what's ahead at AdeptiCon, Gen Con, and...well, just around the corner for Infinity!

Happy Weekend!
Yes, now the weekend can begin 😀 .
I can’t believe @brennon didn’t put the Atlantis Miniatures KS in the running order 😉 . Or has he saved it for tomorrows XLBS ?
It’s the weekend!!
Been so flat out all week that hobby barely got a look in apart from a game of Malifaux on Tuesday. Next week will be worse… Must make the most of the weekend; after I’ve watched this of course 😉
Token tray whose lids becomes scatter scenery… Genius!!!
Really looking forward to the upcoming Runewars Boot Camp. It’s crazy that those attending will essentially have an exclusive boxset due to delays.
Would be good to get some more details about the Army Painter side of it to know what the options will be.
No need to ruin the box by putting a sticker on it, @brennon. Legally changing your name is very easy these day… 😉
@Lloyd
RuneWars at full-size is playedon 6×3, which is the same size as Armada.
My weekend can begin now 🙂 Those living hinge boxes look great.
I really hope customisedgaming does well, because they look well planned and original. I may get one to check how durable they are.
well i am looking forward to getting the rune wars hobby camp , 5 mins build couple of days of painting and then onto some games:-)
Those custom boxes are very handy! 🙂
Another fun weekender!
Wow I never win anything. I was going to buy this bag. I’m super happy. I tell you what BOW team, give me the name of your favourite charity and I’ll make a donation.
Really love those wooden transport cases. I would love one for Dark Age, as my Battlefoam bag is complete overkill for such a low-miniature-count game.
@Lloyd why not pick up some historical Chinese or Japanese miniatures, and use them as proxies for Saga. Pick a faction and use it’s board and dice but sub in a daimiyo (leader mini), some samurai (the elite troops), and some ashigaru (rank and file troops), if you were to use a Japanese theme to the force. Most gamers I know wouldn’t mind someone doing that, as long as it’s not in a tournament (especially one with a WYSIWYG rule).
I had the opportunity to take a look at the custom boxes. They are a bit pricey (not over the top) but they are really well crafted. So they are probably not the storage solution for your man cave, but are prefectly for the more visible stuff. Lets say something on the shelf in the living room. These boxes are the perfect way to even get misses approve of miniatures and card games in plain sight. I need a few of those 😀
Those boxes are very pretty but if I dont want to magnetise my models I doubt they would be very good for me. I have to cycle with my armies and I don’t trust that even magnetised that would work. I am very intrigued by the clamps in the book boxes though.
infinity campaign you say, I’m in. the corvus belli and BOW dream team is back. can’t wait to see what’s going to happen with infinity in the stars.
luxumbra, backed.
can’t wait for the US seminars to hit the internet, Carlos will smash it like he always does.
the manga, oh god yeah. the exclusive miniature is epic and i hope the manga runs for years so we can get the whole crew.
rising sun, tempted because of the setting and the art. I no little of 4x games but if Ben says its good then that’s good enough for me.
The hard case for painting supplies look great, having one would definitely make taking your painting supplies with you much easier.
The boxes are very nice!
It would be great if you all could research and list some of the leading developers of 3D printer wargaming models and terrain. I will perform a well executed google search, but I know I will miss a few!
I’m interested in seeing how Runewars develops. Are the miniatures all the same? As in, are the rank and file miniatures repeats of each other or is there any customisability? How about the expansion sets? Are they repeats of what’s in the main box, or new sculpts? I’m torn. On the one hand I like the idea of a self-contained game and I like the cards for customising units… But on the other, it seems to be missing quite a few of the things I consider to be important parts of the hobby. As i say, looking forward to finding… Read more »
Happy weekend!
Holy …., I won?!
Grats mate! Finally someone I know won 🙂
I haven’t played Magicfor many years, but I want that book-like box anyway!
Also, very excited for the new Infinity Campaign, great idea to bring this time the fighting to spaceships.
Beautiful boxes, I like the fact that the models are “locked” in place.
The Rune Wars box looks massive.
You guys didn’t show the amount of stuff that was unlocked on the Relic Knights Kickstarter. I’m just pledging to get the free minis and if the game is as good as it looks then bonus. The amount of free resin minis more than makes up for the pledge and then you get a 2 player starter to boot.
That was a fully packed show – Good to see Carlos
STRIKEZONE: WOTAN…that is all
