IDW Games Announce Two New TMNT Miniature Games
December 7, 2018 by cassn
IDW have announced a series of new games surrounding the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Two games have been announced so far - TMNT: Change is Constant and TMNT: City Fall.
In TMNT: Change is Constant, players must battle their way through campaign scenarios which retell some of the best-loved stories from the IDW comics. There are also one-shot missions for quick playthroughs, meaning that playtime can range from 30-120 minutes. Players compete against either an AI controlled villain (in co-operative mode) or another player (in 4vs1 mode).
While TMNT: Change is Constant follows the first two story arcs of the IDW comics, TMNT: City Fall instead focuses on the story of one turtle's recruitment into the Foot Clan. While both games are standalone, they are also compatible with each other. Each game will contain five heroes and forty miniatures in total, so it should be a hefty offering from IDW Games.
Unfortunately, there are no pictures of the Turtle miniatures yet, but with a design team like Daniel Lansdown and Pete Walsh, we hope for good things. The Kickstarter will be launching for both games in January 2019, so interested heroes in a half-shell can keep a vigilant eye on the IDW website.
Who is the best Turtle? (Hint: it's Leonardo)

Hopefully each Ninja Turtle will have his own ‘personality’, strengths and weaknesses, and play differently in the game. The mini pics, thanks questsoflegend, seem to suggest it.

Hi, Daniel here, one of the designers of the game. You are spot on about the heroes, each hero will be very unique from the Actions they can take, dictated by their unique dice, as well as having special abilities that are unique to only them.
The most unique element to how the heroes work is the dice sharing mechanic designed by Kevin Wilson which lets the heroes share actions with their allies. Meaning the heroes must work together to take down their enemies.
How are these games different to the existing TMNT game they’ve already produced? And will they be compatible?
Hi Angelic, Dan here, one of the games designers. This is an excellent question. Change is Constant and City Fall are both new stand alone expansions to the Shadows of the Past Game. Both games will be part of the new entry into Turtles Miniature game system which has now been expanded under the mantle Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures. In this new system we are taking the already existing and amazing 4v1 system created by Kevin’s Wilson and expanding it to include a fully cooperative playmode. This allows players to choose their play style and opens the game to… Read more »
