Defeat Hollywood Monsters In Horrified Board Game
July 23, 2019 by brennon
Ravensburger is keeping the IP-based library of games stocked up with a new addition to the collection, Horrified.
The game works with between one and five players and has you dealing with not just one monster but seven of them, torn from the Univeral Studios Monsters line-up. You will have to race around the board trying to get rid of creatures like Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, Dracula, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
The game is fully cooperative (and it has solo play of course) and has you trying to work out the best way to deal with each of these threats. Each monster is unique and will require you to use a different strategy in order to win.
In an era where board gaming is becoming more popular with a wider variety of different people, this seems like it could be a good way to get monster movie fans stuck into tabletop games. I really like the style of the game which features some very plush looking components and plenty of colour!
I really like that they've gone with illustrations of these different monsters as well rather than trying to work movies stills of these characters into the design. It makes all the difference to the aesthetic of a game!
Could you be tempted by Horrified?

The art work looks great.
I’d need to know much more, but it could be interesting.
The art looks like the old Aurora model kits from the ’60s. ?
My first thought was ‘Monster Squad’ as a board game. This may well be fun.
