Archon Studio has announced that Heroes Of Might And Magic III: The Board Game is going to be coming to the tabletop next year via Kickstarter. Their November 2022 campaign is a ways off but they have already been sharing details about this new adaptation of the classic PC game.

The board game will follow the themes of the PC game with players exploring a hexagonal world map packed with tiles and utilises a chess-like battle system. Much like in the game you'll start off from one of three Towns, Inferno, Castle (and a yet to be announced faction) and from there your hero will find creatures and other allies that you are able to bind to your will.

You'll meet lots of classic creatures from the game as well as heroes like Catherine Ironfitst and Xeron. Many of these creatures and characters that you meet will be represented by detailed miniatures like the one for Medusa that you see below.

As well as this, the game will offer up a chance to fight alongside Archangels, infamous Devils, and the all-time classic Dragons. Everyone loves a good dragon, right? All of this will be brought to life thanks to the wealth of artwork that sits in the Heroes Of Might And Magic vaults!

As you travel throughout the land you will find these creatures but also work on collecting different Artefacts that can help you claim victory. You will also have to master both might and magic (as the name of the game would suggest!). Learn from four different schools of magic and then level up your hero will all manner of abilities.

It will be interesting to see how much of this board game is a replication of the digital experience and what else it can add to the mix. Heroes Of Might And Magic was born in an age where a lot of strategy games felt like board games on the screen so it makes sense to adapt it for the tabletop. It will be neat to see what else the tabletop version adds that makes it fun for those who remember the games and anyone who is new to the franchise.

This one is still a way off but we will no doubt see more teasers for this project popping up in the coming year!
