Harley Quinzel Laughs Her Way Into Monolith’s Batman Board Game
December 31, 2017 by thisisazrael
Monolith have released some new renders of Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, otherwise known as Harley Quinn for their upcoming Batman: Gotham City Chronicles board game.
The miniature's style is very much in keeping with Batman: The Animated Series which I am really on board with.
The sculptor Irek Zielinski has done a particularly great job on Harley's face which is just full of maniacal fun.
She certainly portrays a wacky criminal opponent full of fun antics so it'll be great to see how she plays out on the tabletop.
Monolith themselves have said, "Her weapon of choice is a huge mallet, but she can also handle baseball bats, handguns, and automatic rifles. But what really makes her dangerous is her unpredictability".
I really look forward to seeing some of these painted up and wonder if many people will ditch the red and black for something a bit different.
Which Batman villain would you be most excited to paint?

Ooh, wow! She sure got hit with the ugly stick!
My thoughts exactly… ouch. Not the Harley I remember. She was cute as a button.
Everything’s pig-disgusting in 3d. I bet you’d still hit it until it stopped moving regardless of the butterface. 😛
I like the costume but there is something “butter” about her. Seems like they worked hard a did a good job on everything butter face. Maybe painted and not just primed it will look better.
Monolith have definitely been hit or miss.
This is just one version of her. Monolith had to chose which artists to stick with to make continuity between all the characters. We will have to wait and see what other versions of our favorite heroes and villains they will model on other artists.
Again, it’s just a 3D render, the mini may differ.
Yeah- from the Siege of the Citadel KS they made it quite clear that they listen when backers are saying “Dude, you can do better.”
Most of the finished renders ended up really nice (there are a few nitpics that people will always have).
So- here’s hoping we see another round of sculpting before she’s released.
I hope they do a version of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad, as this one is not working for me.
This game is based on the comic books only, so that sadly won’t happen
Knight models has two different versions of her based in the movie
This game has me really torn – I’m a huge Batman fan but they seem to be all over the place on the renders. The face on this is cack, doesn’t look maniacal so much as she has been attacked with Joker venom. Still be interested to hear how the game plays (Dice Tower have said they’ve enjoyed it in demos) but it isn’t a day one backing for me anymore.
Like any KS, best wait for the game to drop. Then you can see it in all it’s glory. (These are just prototypes and renderings.)
Sure, I’m not a fool. I’m just saying this is a game that the more they show, the less impressed I am given we know it will be an expensive entry point ($130 for the core alone). Let’s be honest, it’s not like they’ll struggle to hit their targets and they could release minis that don’t improve. If Monolith are happy enough to release renders/protoypes then they are either happy with them or looking for feedback. There are five comments on this post all of them saying they don’t like the face. That’s either feedback Monolith care or don’t care… Read more »
They care. This game has already address the criticisms that arose from Conan. Even Conan has changed since release.
Due to the cost of getting to retail and issues with the supply of previous projects they have announced that this game will only be available through the Kickstarter campaign so only option is to back or buy on secondary market.
not a stunning figure.
There have been a few sculpts for this that I like, and a whole bunch I don’t. The Deadshot, Poison Ivy and Harley sculpts are all awkwardly posed to me. Several have weird facial expressions.
I gert that they are going for a more unified aesthetic but there are too many misses on show so far. I guess this one jusdtvisnt to my taste. I also don’t love that it is a kickstarter exclusive project. Unless they keep going back to kickstarter I dfint see it getting much support in the future.
