Grey Fox Go Raiding With Reavers Of Midgard On Kickstarter
November 6, 2018 by brennon
Grey Fox Games are building on their impressive Champions Of Midgard series with a new standalone game set within the same Viking universe. Reavers Of Midgard is on Kickstarter right now looking for funding.
Reavers Of Midgard takes their tried and tested engine building and worker placement mechanics and tweaks it to include new ways to adventure and use that dice-chucking combat that we've come to know and love from these folks.
Much like with the Champions Of Midgard game series and its expansions you will be placing down settlements and buildings to help fuel your raiding war machine and then heading out to win glory and honour on the high seas against fantastic beasts and more.
The twist in the tail is the addition of the Reavers who are powerful characters whose dice is unique and helps adds more power to your warband.
As well as having plenty of mechanics which will help you build up a strong base the real focus here is on destruction and raiding on the high seas. I am somewhat sad that they stepped away from the more cartoony look that we saw on the Champions games in favour of this more realistic looking artwork...but it's still very nice!
Core Pledge
If you're interested in the game, here is the main pledge so you can get a peek at what's inside the box.
As you can see it comes packed with all the things that board gamers love, namely lots of wooden pieces and fancy dice.
I am a big fan of Champions Of Midgard and so it will be interesting to see if Reavers Of Midgard is able to scratch the same itch with its new mechanics. I think the worker placement gameplay mixed with the combat of the original games made it a game well worth considering so keep an eye on this one.
Will you be going Reaving?

A bit of a Viking overload at the moment, looks a good game but so do the other’s so a gamer’s video will help people decide which one players would pick.
