Greebo’s New Orc Football Team
December 3, 2011 by beerogre
Renowned fantasy football sculptors Greebo Miniatures have greated this new Orc Team suitable for your favourite game.
I'm particularly fond of the "Leatherhead Football" feel to these guys. The lack of armour somehow seems to suit the tough Orc image.
This seems like quite an original take on greenskins in fantasy football – the helmets don’t have the spikes I’d personally assume such an aggressive race to have and the shirts aren’t ripped, showing they were purposely made for these players. It makes them seem more civilised…but in-game I bet they’d still rip your face off. 😉
The heads have quite a bit of individuality to them, but it looks like the bodies have been repeated depending on the player roles…still plenty of variation though. Loving these overall.
@thc303 I think it looks good to have a orc team that has that real football look rather than normal battle orcs with a ball in the hand.
Yeah, no obvious weapons, spiky bits, nothing lethal about them. Its like they’ve gone through an Orky version of the Ludovico Technique, (I think this came to mind because they are wearing their jock straps on the outside, and of course the recent mini’s that were posted of the droogs.) 12 minis total with 6 base sculpts, with head swaps to provide variety. Its a very civilized bunch of Orks. Maybe Bad Moon converts? Given how much money the average football player makes, seems like the Bad Moons would be happy to toss the wargear for the gridiron.
Depends how many teeth you get to the dollar.
I prefer these to the spikey silly look…just need some NFL based fantasy rules now. I wonder who makes those? 😉
Something other than Blood Bowl?
Very nice alternative to the normal look 🙂
