Great Western Trail Heads To New Zealand Later This Year
February 16, 2023 by brennon
Eggert Spiele are going to be expanding their Great Western Trail collection with a trip to New Zealand later this year. Instead of moving cattle, you're going to be getting sheep from point A to point B and hoping to come out on top economically!
Great Western Trail: New Zealand // Eggert Spiele
Alexander Pfister is back with this spin on the classic Great Western Trail. You find yourself in the boots of a Runholder at the end of the 19th Century on the South Island of New Zealand. You have to diversify your various breeds of sheep and get them to a place where you can get the best prices for your wool.
You'll have to build up your business, much like in previous games (see below) and place buildings, hire new workers and get ready to haul your animals across the country. From there, you'll be shipping them out to distant locations in order to make a living.

This comes in as the third in the series for Great Western Trailer, building on the original and Argentinian versions of the game with a few new mechanics here and there. The core game mechanics remain the same though so it should be neat to see if this is worth adding to the collection or being someone's first port of call.
