Great News For Prodos Games As AvP Gets Greenlight (Mostly)
March 7, 2015 by brennon
Prodos Games have come out with a statement saying that Alien Vs Predator has been practically all but greenlit by Fox and they should be able to make steps towards getting it out the door to backers and of course then retail...
From Prodos...
"Happy Days! We have just got final approval for all aspects of the game, with the exception of the rules. The rules are in the final stages and just need to be sent to a professional proofing company. We will continue to update when we can, but it's fair to say that today is a good day. I suspect there will be some celebrating tonight in Prodos Towers!"
...which is very good news indeed. The models are fine, the components are fine, and it's just the rules to go and they don't have to go through Fox so that's a good sign too. It might finally be time to check this out!
What do you think of the news?

Great news!
Oh I have been waiting so long for this (KS Backer). The minis are utterly fantastic.
I can’t wait…….It feels like another lifetime ago that I backed this kickstarter!!
So having watched the WWX week I was on the verge of buying into that,… now my KS-bundle is imminent I shall refrain!
Very good news, hopefully that will put a lot of peoples minds at rest. I will probably pick up a copy for a friend of mine.
Excellent.
Great news.
I burned my hands on this KS and after all we have been through, I wouldnt wonder if further issues come up that will lead to more delays.
So lets see how actual production and shipment will play out. So far this Project was pretty much a fail in my eyes.
mostly i would hold of the party till their in the shops, you just never know.
it is good to hear that the intellectual property disputes around this project seem to have been worked out, not only for those who backed the Kickstarter and have money on the line, but for everyone who has ever dreamt of Aliens and Predators on the tabletop, which must be a large constituency amongst wargamers.
Here’s hoping that there won’t be any further problems.
That is good news! Not just because it suggests that this project is on track again, but also because it suggests that the problem was always one of differing expectations and understandings of how to work together rather than a more fundamental disagreement. Say, over the extent to which Fox tried to micro-manage things or take a hands off approach. I’m less keen than many on film and computer game IP being turned into tabletop wargames, but if this has been resolved satisfactorily then it looks good for other settings and licenses making the jump into our hobby.
I never backed the KS but I have followed this ‘saga’ with interest as I want to buy into this game. The Aliens universe is one I’ve loved since I saw Alien and Aliens. I even had many of the old mini boxsets from Leading Edge! Warzone from Prodos also interests me and I intend to buy once all the red tape is sorted and the models are in the shops ( I need me some Colonial Marines!). If they are good I expect to get into Warzone soon after.
I never really questioned Prodos ability to make models or a game. The only thing that truly did hold me back was that the IP was not truly theirs to do as they wished, and therefore would have jump through hoops just to please Fox at the end of the day. Also they could yank the license from them making this game a dud.
I’m rarely supportive of games with loaned out IP for the instability that comes with them.
Can not wait for this to arrive. Got some extra Predators and ofcourse some Predettes to paint at the same time
