Goblins Are Invading The Blood Bowl Pitch From Forge World & GW
May 10, 2017 by brennon
Adding to the range of teams available for you to pick up for Blood Bowl, Forge World and Games Workshop have hired some pesky Goblins. They aren't the toughest team but they make up for it with some cheeky tricks!
You'll get a whole host of Goblins to play around with as well as their awesome trophy and coin which have become a standard with the new Blood Bowl Teams. However, if you want to get a hold of their Special Weapons you'll have to look to Forge World.
The Chainsaw, Bomber and Ball & Chain are all going to be available first at Warhammer Fest which runs across the last weekend of May.
Of the special weapons they've shown off I think that the Ball & Chain chap is my favourite. Look at that intent glare on his face as he readies that ball to smash you away so he can send his mates through the gap left in your line.
Are the Goblins a team you're going to be playing in Blood Bowl?

Over all those are rather good.
Realy great Models! If I didn’t just start a skaven team those guys would be and instant buy!
My computer must be showing me different images. I think these are bang average.
I will go one further and say that the chainsaw guy is awful. The rest are indeed average. Only 4 different sculpts of the generic resin line-goblins is bad in this day and age.
The only model in the range I like at all is the Bomber. Even then, his face is characterless.
With all of the good things GW are doing at the moment, Blood Bowl continues to disappoint.
I love the plastics, really characterful. The secret weapons are by comparison terrible, I think a conversions would be my option if I do go for a team
I was under the impression they were all FW resin.
Plastic Goblins? Interesting!
The plastic team look great and will be a “sure thing” purchase… I am not sure about the bomb gobbo though .. his head looks decidedly off
the plastic are super – although ironically they make the goblins look quite competent on the field! not a fan of the secret weapons though – the chainsaw especially is a bit disappointing. gonna be converting my own for my gobbo team i reckon.
I’m not keen. I loved the old 90s goblin special weapons, indeed they were among the few models that survived +~20 years of clearouts and house moves while I was absent from the hobby. These lack that sense of humour the older minis had.
Not a fan of these; only the bomb guy looks any good to me.
As long as the goblins are still cheating little back-stabbing jerks this interests me. Some of the models look awesome and others a bit off, hopefully just the paint or photography; hoping they have some clear unpainted images loaded and ready when they put them up for sale 🙂
No a fan.. these guys look like something out of the Blood Bowl computer game rather than GW miniatures. The guys just don’t look stunty enough
Out of the secret weapons, the bombardier looks nice. The looney looks like an orc and the fanatic doesn’t really looks like a fanatic.
It really does seem hit and miss when it comes to Forgeworld’s output of BB models, although the angle of the chainsaw gobbo isn’t doing it any favours.
I think I’d be more inclined to get Greebo’s goblins, which while relatively expensive to buy, I don’t think would be much more vs buying everything a gobbo team could have from GW’s range; i.e. a team + special weapons + trolls (whenever they appear).
the troll has been out for a little while actually – has been quite a mixed reception on this sculpt too!

…actually, it is still a vile sculpt. Actually!
I love the old GW Goblin team. The new special weapons are dreadful. Why no pogo rider? I’ll stick to the ones I have.
The price is a joke too.
Where are you seeing the prices?
The new rat starplayer looks pretty good.

They’ve done good job on the rats.
I think GW generally make some of the best sci-fi/fantasy gaming miniatures and models in the business, but once in a while they put out something pretty awful. The 90s goblin range were distorted, but in a cheeky cartoony way which gave them bags of character- these guys just look badly drawn. Forge World are certainly having another of their bad days too, hot on the heels of that rat ogre they brought out a couple of months ago.
The Bloodbowl range is the only range where the Forgeworld stuff looks a lot worse than the actual GW range.
