Head Into The Gnarlwood With Warhammer Underworlds This Week
October 17, 2022 by brennon
Games Workshop will be heading deep into the heart of the Gnarlwood this weekend with pre-orders going live for Warhammer Underworlds' newest boxed set. Two new warbands will be battling it out for secrets in the realm of Ghur.

In Gnarlwood, the fighting heads deep into the heart of the Ghur. The Gnarlspirit Pack will be harnessing the power of the woods and using that savage power to dominate others on the tabletop.

A great new set of miniatures that really hit on that "Chaos but not Chaos" feel of a lot of the warbands from Warhammer Age Of Sigmar and in particular the skirmish games. I love the nice mix of bone and armour and this could well be one of the first boxed sets where I like both of the warbands in this boxed set.
Talking of the second warbands, we also have the Sons Of Velmorn in this set. Here, the mighty Velmorn is pitting his sons against each other for his favour, a great way to ensure results on the battlefield...maybe?

Some nice miniatures once again and despite the bat wings, I think even Lloyd might be tempted by this set. Whilst the Gnarlspirit Pack are harnessing the power of the Gnarlwood, it seems like the Sons Of Velmorn are delving into it so they can protect the remnants of their kingdom that was eaten by the wood long ago! In their mind, everyone is trespassing I suppose!
Returning Warhammer Underworlds Warbands
As well as the release of a brand new boxed set for Warhammer Underworlds, you can also get your hands on the older warbands too. The Shadeborn and Skitershank’s Clawpack from Nethermaze are going to be made available separately alongside their decks so that you can use them in your games if you missed out.

Plus, a whole host of the Direchasm Warbands are going to be made available for you to snap up. These won't come with their Warhammer Underworlds cards but you could end up introducing them into your Warhammer Age Of Sigmar armies if you like.

Khagra's Ravagers // Warhammer Underworlds
Kainan's Reaper // Warhammer Underworlds
Hedkrakka's Madmob // Warhammer Underworlds
Elathain's Soulraid // Warhammer Underworlds
Crimson Court // Warhammer Underworlds
A nice set of character models that could be used to take the place of heroes in your games or you could just use them as their warband in its entirety to get the most out of them. I do like the idea of using these warbands as the theme for a larger army. For example, maybe the Crimson Court could be the leaders of your Soulblight Gravelords army, summoning up many more undead fiends to enact their plans on a grander scale.
Are you tempted to snap up some of these new (and returning) Warhammer Underworlds warbands?

It’s nice to see those older warbands getting re-release even if those don’t come with cards.
Fantastic figures especially the skeletons an the winged vampire for games.
