Games Workshop has announced the next set coming out to begin a new season of Warhammer Underworlds. This time around, your warbands are going to be entering the twisted Gnarlwood in search of treasures and glory.

This works as another of their Core Sets for Warhammer Underworlds giving folks a chance to dive in and get started with this quick and competitive card game/board game. You'll find everything within for getting started including the Rivals Decks which means you won't have to worry about doing any deckbuilding out of the box.

You'll also get all of the dice, tokens, cards and more that will allow you to get stuck in. Warhammer Underworlds is a genuinely good game, even if a new set seems to come out every couple of months. The gameplay is quick and easy and you can set up and get gaming pretty much anywhere. I know a lot of folks play it in the pub, especially in Bugman's at Warhammer World!
Additionally, the depth of deckbuilding now available means that you can get stuck into all sorts of interesting tactical puzzles. For those (like me) who would prefer to just be given a deck to get stuck in with, the Rivals format is great and eases you in nicely.
New Warhammer Underworlds Warbands
A new set also comes with new warbands. We lead the way with the Gnarlspirit Pack.
Gnarlspirit Pack // Warhammer Underworlds
The Gnarlspirit Pack are a band of Darkoath warriors. They are led by the Hunt-Shaman known as Sarrakkar Blackwing and they love to battle through the Gnarlwood in the name of their wild and otherworldly masters. Get berserker and harness your rage!
Going up against the Gnarlspirit Pack, we have the bat-wing-helmed Sons Of Velmorn.

I don't think Lloyd is going to like these but I think these look absolutely fantastic. Games Workshop really has been outdoing themselves when it comes to the undead of late. Once upon a time King Velmorn and his sons called the Gnarlwood home but it was soon utterly consumed by the jungle. Wearing the Tyrant's Crown, Velmorn was able to continue his reign in death, despite no longer having a kingdom, and he brought his Grave Guard sons along with him. Their sibling rivalry means that they will constantly try to outdo each other on the field of battle.
As well as the new warbands, there is also an updated rulebook that has been tailored for newcomers. This works nicely with the Rivals Decks to allow you a very nice way to get stuck into the game without much hassle. Two additional Universal Rivals Decks are also included in the box allowing you to build fun new decks with existing warbands.
I am really liking both of the warbands in this set and I know a friend who likes the undead. I might have to dive in this time.
Are you going to be picking this up?

The “Sons Of Velmorn” make some nice undead skellibobs. With just the right amount of skulls. But I’m not buying them just for that XD
While both warbands look really good those undead are some of best looking undead I have seen from GW.
got to agree those look excellent.
As did the ones in Cursed City – seems like GW have recaptured that old Skeleton magic, I can only assume they hired someone to do this who lives and breathes “Jason and the Argonauts”!
Great looking gaming figures for player’s.
Liking these new minis from GW (even if the undead have those crazy “bat wings” added, but I suppose you could always shave them off). I don’t play the game, but I’ve purchased a set or two in the range to play with other rulesets (like Frostgrave/Rangers of Shadowdeep).
