Games Workshop Introduce The Explorers Of Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress
October 31, 2018 by brennon
Games Workshop has been delving into the background behind their upcoming game, Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress. As well as a few videos they've also been showing off the miniatures too...
The various parts of this teaser series start to unveil the world you're going to be exploring including the massive Precipice which will feel like your home before long, especially if you're a Rogue Trader captain like Janus Draik here who seems like a very dapper gentleman indeed.
Draik is obsessed with finding the Blackstone Fortress and uncovering its secrets and to that end, he is hoping to recruit all manner of different misfits to help in his endeavour.
For example, one of these characters that is joining the crew is the Kroot Hunter. The last time we saw a Kroot like this venturing out of a T'au army they were in Inquisitor!
The miniatures are looking superb for this game already and I can see people picking up the set for the characters and creatures alone, even before we get stuck into the game itself.
Warhammer Quest went through an awesome transformation when it changed from Silver Tower into Shadows Over Hammerhal and it will be interesting to see what they tweak as they explore the Warhammer 40,000 vibe.
Will you be checking this out?

Those two look good.
This has gone staright onto my Christmas list. Looking forward to playing this over the holidays.
Not sure what Justin’s reaction will be to Draik’s fulsome codpiece. 😀
He’s a fine nod-and-a-wink to the old Empire army. Best not to dwell on exactly what’s winking though ?
I had not even noticed that yet! Now I want him even more.
He needs this pain scheme: https://youtu.be/2a4gyJsY0mc?t=170
With OSL applied of course.
What did I just watch!???
Really looking forward to playing this one. Dibs on the aeldari ranger!
Some cracking miniatures there. Really interested to see what other miniatures might be included in the box.
Did I see a Squat with a grappling hook?
no ????? Really ….. *swoons* …. please don’t be messing with me …. goes back to watch videos again.
I thought the same thing… think it’s a ratling instead though, 40k hobbits are still cool
No squats 🙁 …. Ratlings are pretty cool though… and are my second choice
Thus is cool but I do hope they bring back the Solo Component as to me it’s not Warhammer Quest without that.
I like the kroot. I wonder if these models will be available individually?
I think they made the Silver Tower ones available so I guess it’s possible.
Love the new figure Jonny Depp nid Hunter ?
I see a wonderful Kroot Shapper coming up in my army!
That captain is looking great too (alt Rogue Trader Kill team!)
This is going on my watch list
The rogue trader is a nice mini, but nothing exciting, the kroot though is stunning and I have a long held love of kroot, the new ‘monster’ mini is interesting as well. I am liking GW exploring the lesser known aspects of the universe.
It’s official. Rogue Traders are outright cool. Commence shiny syndrome.
I swear GW has made a 40k version of 2000ad’s Devlin Waugh 🙂
I don’t even care what else they put in the box. I just want the Rogue Trader Mini.
And of course since the days of space crusade any roleplayish space ship dungeon crawling game in the 40k universe is a way straight into my heart. And I just love to see miniatures of 40k characters that are not part of any organized military.
War-hammer Quest plus 40K? Nope, I’m out….
Do we yet know if this will be full co-op or DM vs. Players? That makes a really big difference to my group.
Looks great, should be fun to play and more Rogue Trader minis is always a good thing.
Everything in that box should come with kill team rules.
