Mourning The Loss Of Gale Force Nine’s Masterful Sean Sweigart
January 5, 2017 by deltagamegirl22
We were deeply saddened to hear news of the passing of a wonderful game designer for Gale Force Nine, Sean Sweigart.
We had the pleasure of speaking with Sean at Gen Con this past year, and it didn't take but a second to feel his passion for gaming as he took us through their incredible game, Star Trek: Ascendancy.
Sean spent the greater part of his life immersed in the Sci-Fi and Fantasy universes, which no doubt speaks to the amazing worlds he was able to bring to life in games.
Ascendancy was just one of the epic titles that came from the masterful mind of Sean, and he was also instrumental in designing: Spartacus: A Game of Blood & Treachery, Firefly: The Game, Sons of Anarchy: Men of Mayhem, Homeland, WWE Superstar Showdown, and Family Guy: Stewie’s Sexy Party Game.
Anyone that has stopped by the Gale Force Nine stand at conventions will undoubtedly know who Sean Sweigart was and feel the great loss to the gaming community. He will be missed.
Memorial Fund
There is a Go Fund Me page set up for his daughter Alyssa, as we understand it she's going through college and now without her father could use some help funding her education.

what a fantastic game to leave as a gift, thanks Sean
Very saddened to see this news. We’ve played and enjoyed a lot of his games, and had the privilege of being taught to play Sons of Anarchy by him.
Sad news and condolences to his family.
I have had a few, fun filled games of Firefly.
Sad news in deed, Sean has left a gaming legacy that will last till the end of time.
Not played any of the game`s, but will look in to them.
He seems a great fun guy his family and the industry will miss him greatly. RIP
Awww… crap… 🙁
I have zero personal ties to him but I greatly enjoy some of the games he worked on. That said I don’t think BoW should have linked to a page where people give money to his daughter.
Sad news indeed
Loss of force is a powerful game to play, especially for the students to jump in and showcase the gaming talent. I know the https://www.meritline.com/how-academic-writing-services-improve-your-content-marketing-strategy/ might be tough for them to make the loss of force talent in it, but you can at least give it a try. It shows your passion for the game.
