Galactic Emperor Gets A Redesign In Empire Of The Stars
May 22, 2019 by cassn
Designer Adam West has returned with a redesign of his classic 2008 empire-building game Galactic Emperor. Now you can dominate the galaxy and rule supreme as the Empire of the Stars!
In Galactic Emperor, players battle as Planetary Dukes competing for the throne. Through the strategic choice of roles, players determine the direction of the game. Discover planets, gain resources, build ships and attack fleers in an attempt to seize the crown before the Omega Sun collapses!
Empire of the Stars follows the same premise of the original game, however, West has made some significant changes to the mechanic which are aimed at improving the original game, including updating the scoring system, speeding up gameplay, and developing some new role selection changes. In a forum post, he stated that the new developments were his way of 'taking my historical self to task on the design'.
Empire of the Stars will be coming to Kickstarter later in 2019 for release in 2020. In the meantime, you can check out more of what the designer had to say about the rule changes from the original game here.
