How to Gain Wisdom by Stacking Dice
July 15, 2011 by dracs
Welcome young grasshopper, so you wish to learn wisdom of ancients? Then come play Sutakku, the Japanese game of dice stacking from Smirk and Dagger Games.
Tha game itself is simple, you roll three dice and then choose two of those to stack. You can stop and count up the score of your dice stack at any time, but to win you have to carefully judge just how far you can push your luck. The more you stack the more points you will get, but push it too far and you could end up with nothing.
According to Smirk and Dagger, the game was originally devised to teach people the dangers of wishing for more than you have, although it could equally have been a way to teach people the fine arts of balancing dice ontop of each other.
What do you guys think of this? Anyone fancy giving it a try? Personally I think its kind of like a Japanese Jenga.
after a quick glance, it looks like a variation on Sid Sackson’s “Can’t Stop”
I would say this game is way older than Sid Sackson ^^ …so its definitely now variation from his game ^^
im pretty sure ‘sutakku’ is japanese spelling ‘stack’ using katakana (su-ta-ku) then spelled phonetically back into english
