Funko Bring The Rocketeer To The Tabletop With New Board Game
August 18, 2021 by brennon
Funko Games are bringing The Rocketeer to the tabletop as part of a new board game project. The Rocketeer: Fate Of The Future is a new two-player strategy game based on the Disney movie from the 1990s and of course, the comic!

The Rocketeer is a two-player strategy game where one player will be taking to the skies as the mysterious hero whilst the other schemes to steal the blueprints! Take on the role of the heroes or the villains and fight for control across a rather beautiful looking board.

I really like the presentation of the game if nothing else. It looks like you'll be moving characters to different areas of the board in order to control them and gain benefits to help you achieve victory. There is little additional information on the gameplay as of yet but I am certainly intrigued, especially as a two-player strategy game.
I vaguely remember watching this movie a few years ago and thought it wasn't all that bad. I also feel like it should have involved Brendan Fraser for some reason?
Are you tempted to check this out later this year?

I loved absolutely loved the Rocketeer! I was amazed that didn’t do better. In fact I am sure Billy Campbell talked about them potentially rebooting it a few years back.
Loved the inclusion of the guy playing the Creeper, that was such a nice touch.
Other than Billy Campbell it has the sort of cast you look at and go “How did this fail again?”. I mean Jennifer Connolly and Timothy Dalton alone are worth the price of admission – always good to see Tim get to play a moustache twirling villain….
Enjoyed the movie. so long ago. Not sure about the game, but might dig the movie out to watch again.
It’s on Disney+ if that’s your kinda thing.
To infinity and beyond oops wrong flyer.
Don’t really remember the rocketeer show.
It’s only ever been a single film and some comic books – the creator passed away about 15 years ago (If I remember right) and there is quite a nice collection of his work with the character. Subsequently I think Dark Horse or IDW have put out a few mini series featuring the character, which have been quite fun.
i think their was a B&W series? i may be confusing with Flash Gordon.
Such an underated film (and entertaining comics series). And given how it nails the tone of pulp adventures it becomes readily apparent why Marvel opted to bring director Joe “oh yeah, I also worked on a few project at ILM for George Lucas” Johnston on board for Captain America: The First Avenger.
You need to look for Commander Cody on you tube
