Dive Into A Fun Fantasy Adventure In WizKids’ Dungeon Scrawlers

I am all for quirky games and Dungeon Scrawlers: Heroes Of Undermountain from WizKids seems to fit that remit. Based on Dungeons & Dragons, this game tests two-to-four players to dive into a quick scrawling board game adventure through dungeons deep and caverns old.

One of the fun elements of this game that immediately caught my eye was the idea of a real-time dungeon racing game. Real-time games are always an interesting prospect and they can provide you with the perfect amount of chaos if you get the right group.

During gameplay, you will use markers to trace your path through the dungeons of Halaster Blackcloak. Along the way you'll defeat Monsters, cast Spells, connect Artefact Fragments and pilfer Treasures. A round comes to an end when one player has fought their way through the dungeon and defeated its mighty boss. Games take, at most, fifteen minutes so you better be quick!
Each character that you play as come with different abilities. I really like this as it gives you a guide towards play and offers up more options on repeat adventures. There are ten unique mazes that increase in complexity as you go through them. Some introduce stricter time limits whilst others make you fight multiple bosses for you to clear them.

With games playing out across three dungeons and with all manner of interesting combinations for you to put into play, this sounds like it could be a fun game to play with kids. I think they'd have fun with the frenetic action of the game. Additionally, I think this would be a great game to dive into at a board game cafe or convention.
A neat looking game that does something quirky with the Dungeons & Dragons theme!

Risky business cheapening you golden goose IP.
Hasbro has looked at their own balance sheet & realized 2 properties comprise most of their profits: D&D and Magic The Gathering. So MTG has been going ballz-to-the-wall cranking out more product than any sane player can ever absorb. And D&D must now be flogged in eighteen different directions to create MAXIMUM PROFITZZZZZZZ! My favorite are the $500 mounted trophy head wall plaques.
I mean, that’s what business is all about, creating maximum profit. Someone keeps buying the stuff.
WizKids/Wizards have been making D&D adjacent board/card games for years. I agree it’s a mistake if the games are trash but most of the D&D adjacent games have been pretty good.
Looks interesting a game video will help people decide if it’s a game for them.
