Full Colour Acrylic Standees Added To Hero Forge!
April 7, 2022 by fcostin
Hero Forge is a fantastic way for you to get your characters out onto the tabletop. Whether you want to have them involved in an RPG session or simply collect them to sit as a handy mascot amongst your hobby goodies. There's plenty of opportunity on Hero Forge, even if that's just getting an STL file to download and print at home.
There has been an update to the site, adding the option for gamers to get their characters printed as Acrylic Standees alongside the usual standard of miniatures. Fitting seamlessly on the tabletop, and ready to add to your next adventure.
Acrylic Standee Preview // Hero Forge
Pricing for the Acrylic Standees sits at $9.99 on the Hero Forge site, sitting at the same scale as the 3D printed miniatures, but roughly 3mm thick. Placing characters on a 2D design, players will have sight of the front and back of the model in full-colour sitting comfortably on the designed base. The Acrylic Standee will be cut using laser technology and flat-packed down before delivery.

Although this is a new feature for the website, the new addition is still in Beta Stages which means if you were looking and getting hold of your character standee soon, you will need to allow a few months for potential shipping delays.
Back and Front Standees // Hero Forge
I know that Ben is a fiend for Standees for sure, and I would love to upgrade a few of my favourite board game pieces from cardboard, to help breathe some new life into the mix.
What do you think of the newest feature from Hero Forge?

great looking interesting figures brill if you detest painting figures.
This is a great idea. I am a big supporter of standees!
These look like a great idea, I would like to see them in person as I noticed on their web site they were talking about a small drift during printing but the ones shown look great.
Its $12.99 and something really easy to do if you 2d print your model at home out first and then stick to some clear Acetate. Simples
And most literally all of this FDF or MDF terrain is simple enough to make as well, where is foam core when you need it and a bit of imagination, see trouble with wargaming these days people want things given to them and the price just does not justify for the model which can be made inexpensive with imagination and paper, foam core and glue whether hot or cold. You don’t even need to splash out on a 3D printer, having a 3D printer I spend more money printing out scenery than I do making.
Wargaming is about imagination and creativity, its what got me in to being a 3D modeller.
Found this reddit thread, where someone cut out the figures, laminated them, and mounted them on the black clip of binder clips. Inexpensive. : https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/3epnkl/i_found_out_about_printable_paper_minis_less_than/
Can be done does not need you to $12.99 on one single figure
