Head To The Foothills With Lookout’s Snowdonia Spin-Off
June 6, 2019 by brennon
Lookout Spiele has been showing off a new version of Snowdonia, their classic worker placement game called Foothills. The real twist to this is that it is a two-player experience.
This take on Snowdonia changes the game from a worker placement exercise to one which uses action selection instead, keeping the tactical depth of the previous games but enabling it to work well with two players.
Another interesting twist to the classic Snowdonia is that once you've used a particular card it flips over onto its other side revealing an entirely different action. This means that you're going to have to plan ahead as you build up your little empire on the mountain.
Foothills also features variable set-up rules whereby you'll find random sets of tracks being available during each game. This means that each time you sit down to play things will be that little bit different.
Will you be able to work against your competitor and create the most efficient and productive railway on Snowdonia? There's a lot to be mined and plenty of workers to satisfy!
You can download the rulebook HERE to get a feel of the game before you dive in on this one.
