Flatout Games Announce Cascadia Expansion, Landmarks
April 13, 2023 by brennon
Flatout Games has announced a new expansion for one of the hit games of the last few years, Cascadia by Randy Flynn is expanding with additional design help by Molly Johnson, Robert Melvin, Shawn Stankewich with Landmarks!
Cascadia: Landmarks // Flatout Games
With the new Landmarks expansion, players will create sprawling habitats and place stunning natural landmarks on them to gain extra points at the end of the game. Each Landmark gives environments their own look and feel and with the scoring becoming dynamic, it could start to change things up.
As well as the new Landmarks module, there are also additional wildlife scoring cards and habitat tiles that add more variance to your games of Cascadia. This also expands the player count of this beautiful game to five and six players.
If you've not had the chance to play Cascadia, it's a really quick and easy-to-learn tile-laying game where you need to create joined-up habitats and place animals in such a way as to score based on differing victory conditions presented on the cards.

This means that gameplay is always changing and evolving as you go and because you have to pick a tile and token each go, you're sometimes forced to think on the fly and come up with new strategies in order to earn the most points.
Because Landmark throws even more variety into the mix for Cascadia, I can see this game becoming one that a lot of people return to again and again. I am already very much a "best of three games" style player of Cascadia where you tot up your scores over the course of three games and see who comes out on top.
Are you going to be picking up Landmarks when it arrives later this year?

Ooh, we love Cascadia in the Smith household, a firm favourite with even the youngest enjoying the pattern making and territory forming. Will definitely keep an eye out for this expansion.
It’s a good, fun game and quite easy to learn and i’ll happily buy the expansion!
I prefer the 1 to 1 scale easy for Scotland.
