FFG Announce App Support For Star Wars: Imperial Assault
November 21, 2017 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games have made a lot of Star Wars: Imperial Assault fans very happy with the official announcement of the app, Legends Of The Alliance, which will support fully cooperative gameplay on the tabletop.
The app removes the need for one player to take on the role of the Empire and instead four friends can now experience the game's story together as they take their heroes through not only a fully fleshed out narrative tutorial but also a five-mission campaign, Flight Of The Freedom Fighter.
The app not only takes on the role of the Empire but also acts as a way to maintain secrecy as it only reveals tiles and enemies as and when you hit narrative cues.
The game won't hold back either, choosing the best Empire units to active and attack your heroes as you play. For those wondering what they need to play using this App, you only need the Core Set to get started.
As you play through the various missions presented in the app you'll be invited back to a Galactic Map as well where you can go and upgrade your heroes, change their equipment and head out on a new adventure.
With every physical addition you make to the game you can then tell the app what you own and it will start to pick from that array of villains and other accessories to vary up your experience. Of course this also means in future campaigns you'll have more options too.
Will you be picking this up?

the possibilities for this are pretty exciting. if when Vader arrives his breathing kicks in followed by the imperial march people will go nuts for imperial assault.
can they do that? tell me they can do that.
Just as HotAC was the ‘expansion’ that breathed new life into X-Wing, I am certain that the app will.. well.. it wll actually make those of us at the local club who own IA open it up and play it. In my humble opinion, IA should never have been a one vs many game where the Imperial player had an equal chance of winning and ultimately had the tools to do so. The endearing legacy of Star Wars is adventure and friendship and, okay, OP space wizards and the Imperial Assault campaign mode is about giving one player the tools… Read more »
I’ve been sooooo waiting for this!
I hope they do not abandon Descent.
I can’t imagine they would. Imperial Assault and Descent have managed just fine together for the last 3 years or so, I doubt it’ll be stopping anytiume soon if Descent is still selling.
Get in there, have been waiting for this for ages.
I think at this point my shields have failed and all resistance to buying this game has dissipated. IA here I come – stand aside anyone in my way at my FLGS!.
You realise that his is therefore an:
