Fantasy Flight Take Elder Sign To R’lyeh In New Expansion
February 2, 2017 by dracs
Fantasy Flight Games are preparing to come out with a new expansion that will take the cooperative dice game Elder Sign away from the confines of a museum and too the depths of the pacific. Are you prepared for Omens of the Deep?
Based on The Call of Cthulhu expansion for the app game Elder Sign: Omens, Omens of the Deep sees players board the Ultima Thule to combat the Ancient Ones in their ocean home.
The expansion introduces the new R'lyeh rising mode of play, which features two distinct stage. First, they must navigate the Dark Waters track. Can they get their ship to R'lyeh safely, or will they be attacked by the rising Deep One Legion?
Next, they must explore the drowned city, assembling the Amulet of R'lyeh to keep the Deep One Legion at bay.
At the end, they may still have to face the great evil that stirs in the depths.
Another Cthulhu adventure is always welcome on the tabletop, dripping with style!
Is this an adventure you'd be brave enough to head off on?
"Can they get their ship to R'lyeh safely, or will they be attacked by the rising Deep One Legion?"

Oddly enough, Elder Sign is one of my board games that gets played far more than most. Yet, it is also the only Fantasy Flight game I have that I haven’t picked an expansion for. Doubly so in that I have heard there are a couple of Elder Sign expansion that greatly increase the fun of this game, or so I am told.
I doubt I would start with this one, but I should really consider picking up one of the expansions some day.
I love this game and it is one of my family favorites. I also have the iPad version which i love to play on flights. Looking forward to this expansion and the new story line and any new mechanics which are introduced.
