Fantasy Flight Announces Third Edition Of The Classic Fury of Dracula
July 25, 2015 by deltagamegirl22
"Count Dracula has lived Un-Dead for centuries, if not millennia. He drove the Ottomans out of Romania, and became known as Vlad the Impaler for his brutal, bloody method of dispatching his enemies. He witnessed the devastation of the black plague and the innovations of the Industrial Revolution."
"He has infinite wealth, infinite cunning, and countless bloodthirsty progeny scattered throughout Europe. He is by far the most legendary and most powerful of all vampires. Yet four brave mortals are now determined to find him and permanently destroy him at any cost."
This will make the Third appearance for Fury of Dracula, and Fantasy Flight Games promises this edition features all-new art and graphic design that complement the game’s intuitive and highly thematic mechanics. One player assumes the role of Count Dracula and stealthily spreads his evil influence throughout Europe.
Up to four other players will take on the roles of iconic characters like Dr. Abraham Van Helsing, Dr. John Seward, Lord Arthur Godalming, and Mina Harker. Rounds have been broken into day and night, with the hunters taking actions during both. Dracula, however, can only act at night. Combat is now more streamlined and decisive.
Rumor tokens give Dracula new ways to mislead hunters and extend the reach of his influence. The Count triumphs if he advances his influence track to thirteen; if the hunters can defeat him before that happens, they win the game.
If you like complexity in board games, a focus on deduction as well as deception, then this is definitely a game for you.
Would you like to take on the role of the hunter or the hunted?

Another one that has languished on my Wishlist. I love the theme and style of the game. Aside from some catastrophically written rulebooks, FFG really do release some of the best boardgames out there. They come packed to bursting with cards and tokens and the component quality is always spot on.
Their rulebooks have really been much better lately. I think its been a few years now since I’ve seen one I would consider terrible.
This game is always fun when we take it out (I managed to get it even after it was OOP, at retail, because apparently no one buys stuff off the shelf at my local game shop…).
If that picture is the new edition, then it looks like they are using the same miniatures, so I’ll be able to swap my painted ones in straight away.
One of the best boardgames FFG ever got a license to produce. It’s on so many boardgamers wishlists and top 10 games, unfortunately 3rd edition owners are going to have to put up with inferior artwork and grandpa munster on the shockingly bad cover for this edition lol
…you right about the cover – I thought it was Liberace!
If Liberache crept in through my window, I’d be quite scared, thank you.
I was thinking more Jay Reardon the snooker player?

???
You mean Ray Reardon – when I was very young he looked like Christopher Lee’s Dracula.
Lawnmower Deth – Spook Perv Happenings in the Snooker Hall. In the track it clearly states Ray Reardon is, in fact, a vampire.
yup
One of the best board games GW ever made – about 20 years ago. It is good that Fantasy Flight keep reprinting it.
