Face Incurable Diseases in Pandemic: State of Emergency
February 16, 2015 by dracs
It won't be long until State of Emergency, the next expansion set of the great board game Pandemic, will be bringing players all new challenges and characters. One such character is the Pharmacist, who has just been revealed by Z-Man Games.
The Pharmacist is a very useful character class for players who comes into his own as part of the new extreme Superbug Challenge mode, which presents players with a 5th, incurable virus! the only way to win is to cure the four regular viruses and eradicate the superbug.
"Since the superbug cannot be treated, you will have to hurry to find the cure. Once the cure is found, vaccines will have to be administered to the cities infected by the superbug disease in order to remove the cubes. But vaccine doses are rare and must be distributed wisely for any hope of survival!" - Pandemic Facebook
State of Emergency will be spreading its infection come March 9th, making the already difficult game of Pandemic even harder, which means it will probably become even more addictive. The new developments we have seen coming for it are very promising and should help to bring new life to this high pressure cooperative boardgame.

That Pharmacist looks more like a theoretical physicist to me. Maybe he could cure the disease with his crowbar…
I love that game but never tried any extensions… I wonder where to start…
Not sure if it really makes much difference but I would go with them in chronological order, and start with “On the Brink”.
Thanks, I’ll have a look!
Sounds interesting and will probably add to the collection
Not that I have played In the Lab despite having it for over 12 months now. .
