Exploring the Super Dungeon!
August 8, 2011 by brennon
We have featured this game before on the site, but check out these utterly awesome images of Super Dungeon Explore snagged from Gen Con this past weekend.
Inside the box you get a mighty 50 miniatures along side a mass of tiles to create your amazingly detailed dungeons.
The game is played with 2 to 6 players with obviously one of your bunch taking the role of the deadly Dark Consul intent on spoiling your chibi based fun.
The game is incredibly simple with a basic combat mechanic where all you have to do is roll more stars than the other player on a number of dice. Potions, items and all manner of other bits and pieces can be shared with ease and it's all about the loot!
After every round of slaying enemies arcade style you get to draw a bunch of loot and treasure cards that can be used and traded whenever you like. You can then use these in additional round of combat from then on. The big bad boss at the end of the dungeon though might make you think about when you will use those special items!
With a great amount of quests to go on and plenty of cards to draw every time you delve deeper into the dungeon this could prove an essential buy for any budding dungeon dweller...IF you can get past the chibi bit which I hope you will.
Check out Soda Pop Miniatures site and also try out the demo Rise of the Kobolds!

SDE looks like a lot of silly fun with some nice looking sculpts.
I think Justin is the perfect BoW team member to video unbox this game.
im so excited about this im about to piss 8-bit pixels
You can get a cream for that.
I’ve already had a read through the demo rules and this could be a LOT of fun.
I can’t wait to get my brushes onto these, they look fantastic. tried the demo rules and they are really fun to play. Looking forward to the proper release.
What’s the big guy with the club? He looks really cool!
<3
I need may to go sell blood to be able to afford this, but it SHALL be bought.
Some previews of the boards would be nice. Is it a corridor-by-corridor style of tiles, or larger sized ones?
Im DEFFO buying this! Anybody know the release date for it? 🙂

Found some other photos, some shots of the boards as well.
Nice find!
Was not so keen on the dragon but seeing him with the rest of the stuff I have to reconsider.
The box is so chock a block with much goodness it should be given free on the NHS to make everyone feel better.
I think you’re right that he looks better in the mix, but I’m still not convinced it is better than a chibi dragon would have been. No, scratch that – a chibi dragon would be way cooler.
