Gloomhaven Expansion Forgotten Circles Arriving This Year
April 3, 2018 by brennon
Gloomhaven: Forgotten Circles is the first big expansion coming to the tabletop later this year from Cephalofair Games. Gloomhaven itself was the massive game that shook Kickstarter not once, but twice, and has become THE game to play with your friends for (what could effectively be) generations.
This new expansion adds in twenty new scenarios and a new character class, the Aesther Diviner. The new scenario book breaks up new encounters to make them more surprising and dynamic as you get stuck into your story. Also, the artwork for the Aesther Diviner looks amazing.
As well as the addition of the new class and these extra adventures you will also find seven new monster types, three new bosses and fourteen new items which your heroes can snag.
What do you think of Gloomhaven and news of a coming expansion?

I think Gloomhaven is the shining star of the 2017 crop of games, but I have absolutely no need for an expansion… I have plenty of content left in the original game. 🙂
What, you haven’t played through all the content yet?
I could see a GH expansion that gives us a completely different questline- that could be really cool.
I noticed that the map in the core game has an open edge to it. Presumably, this is so that you can put an expansion map next to it.
Should be done with the core box campaign in time for this.
Sounds great, does it come in Kickstarter?
Seems to be a retail release
aww that’s bad, how can I get it in my country?
It will be sold via their website as well as retail.
I am dreading to hear the shipping to Europe.
Doesn’t Europe have game stores? Cephelofair have been selling out through retail. If European distributors pass on it, that’s just dumb.
Pricing will be interesting. .
I’ve seen $30 MSRP floating around
I cant wait for this. I was just delivered wave two of Kingdom Death Monster today and now I find out about this? What a great day.
Yeah- those two games have been dominating my game nights lately as well.
