Deadzone Releases With New Expansion & The Asterians On The Horizon
May 31, 2016 by brennon
Mantic Games have now released Deadzone and with that we have some additional content to have a look at too. The first of them is the fact that there's a new expansion already called Exham IV where you get to face off against the Veer-Myn...
As you can see with this one it comes with the new source book 'Infestation', the new rubber mat for you to play the game on and some additional new terrain including those epic pipes. You will be learning about the incident that turned the planet of Exham IV into a Deadzone.
Additionally you also get this special miniature for the set, The Piper. I think that you can guess exactly how he works when you're playing the game as he summons hordes of rats to fight against you.
Asterian Reinforcements
Additionally the faction set for the Asterians is something worth taking a look at. Here we have the Core Box that will allow you to start building on your collection.
Inside this set you get...
- 1x Overseer
- 2x Weapons Drones
- 5x Cyphers with Rifles
- 4x Cyphers with Charge Gloves
- 1x Cypher with Fission Beamer
If you really like the addition of some Space Elves to the tabletop with their robotic companions then see what you think of the Booster Set.
This gives you some more of the robotic troopers for your Asterian collection but it also comes with those superb bow-armed Kalyshi.
- 5x Kalyshi
- 2x Sky Razors
- 2x Weapons Drones
- 2x Cyphers with Rifles
- 1x Cypher with Charge Gloves
- 1x Cypher with Fission Beamer
- 2x Cypher with Missile Launchers
- 2x Cypher Primes
- 1x Black Talon
Deadzone is really taking off and people are being drawn towards the game with its tweaked mechanics and more.
You can of course check out our Demo Game with Ronnie Renton and learn more to find out if Deadzone could be for you.

Have played a few games using the new rules and it hugely speeds the game up. Now planning running a 6 game campaign over two weekends at my local club, could easily get 3 games and the book keeping done in an afternoon.
God the Asterians look crap. The Kalyshi are alright, but those robots are awful.
Each to their own. I like em
Id say the exact opposite, just goes to show. I think the Kalyshi look out of sorts and bit too fantasy-ish.
the scenery looks good.
Hmmm….I guess the Piper isn’t a kickstarter exclusive anymore.
The Piper from the kickstarter is exclusive. The one drom the kickstarter is in resin and another pose. The one you can buy from mantic is in metal.
As Piper and master chief are in the infestation rulebook as unit leaders there should be alternate versions coming out for both.
Are the new figures metal or plastic? Thanks in advance.
The kalyshi and piper are metal, the other asterians are sprueless plastic. The terrain is hard plastic. Hope that helps.
Not on board with this aesthetic.
I am liking those Asterians.
The robots look like slightly less retarded Trade Federation Droids…talk about uninspiring, ugly and forgettable.
The Kalyshi are only slightly better…idiotic aesthetics and armor.
I hate being ‘that’ guy, but Mantic sculpts are always off to me. I can’t get in to any of their systems because of that.
I agree that alot of their sculpts are just…. Off but I recommend proxy-ing and playing some deadzone. It’s alot of fun!
