Rambo: The Board Game Heading To Kickstarter In January 2018

That's right! All the killy goodness you can think of in an epic board game, as Everything Epic announced they've secured the license to produce Rambo: The Board Game.
They will be heading to Kickstarter in January 2018, and after seeing their recent awesome sculpts for Big Trouble in Little China, I have every reason to believe this game is going to look great!
Per their announcement:
"Rambo: The Board Game" is currently in development and is the passion project of Chris Batarlis and Jim Samartino of Everything Epic. The game originated from the designers' love of the film, and the passion for making a game that would capture the magic and fun of the action adventure favourite.
It's a thematic, cooperative, tactical, miniatures, scenario-based campaign game that allows one to four players to experience the events they remember from the film as well as embark on new, never before seen, missions.
The game provides sealed "legacy-like" mission envelopes which gradually expand the game as each mission completes. Each mission tells a story and takes the players on a unique adventure to various locations to save POW's, escape a military prison, raid a jungle encampment, defend a secret air base, or survive a treacherous jungle and much more!
Missions will unlock new equipment and tactics to help players customise their experience and allow for high replayability and great tactical strategy. Taking actions and engaging in combat is done without random dice, but with a card-based system where the player is in control, and where every choice can be life or death!
Players will choose from an iconic variety of special forces characters each with highly detailed miniatures, including, of course, John Rambo, Col. Trautman, other members of Baker Team, and other companions that Rambo teamed up with over the years. Each hero will have unique abilities and customization options that make them valuable during missions.
You control how to approach the mission: Do you go in guns blazing? Or do you take a more stealthy approach? Perhaps you set a trap for the enemy? It's up to you to decide and lead Rambo and his team to victory!"
Are you looking forward to playing some, Rambo, on the tabletop?

so “the film” these people love, would that be “Rambo, First Blood part II” or the 2008 one just titled Rambo?
Certainly does not sound like First Blood, and what with all the jungle references it probably won’t be Rambo III. The picture looks like the earlier one..
…and? Don’t push me!
I was thinking the same thing.
Doesn’t sound like you’re playing as a group of deputies trying to capture the crazy hobo Rambo.
Movie First Blood (as well as book that it’s based on) doesn’t really fit as topic for game as it’s basically about veteran who goes crazy after being treated badly and (least in book) goes to killing spree.
And then dies
everybody dies thats the point of book, both sherrif and rambo.
Sounds to me like it will encompass Rambo 2 and 3 ( they mention more is in the box than just the Jungle stuff from 2 ). The picture is from 3, he is preparing himself for the Stick Fight to earn money for the Monks. I will keep an eye on this come January.
Unless- maybe it is based on the cartoon?
Considering how great the work on Big Trouble is coming along I have solid confidence that this could be great as well. They just need to stick to basics. Rambo works best when he’s just running around, saving POW’s, and blowing s**t up. If you look too deeply it starts to fall apart so keep it simple. Keep it fun. And keep ’em coming!
I just want to know if I’m allowed to win this time?
I want what they want, for this game to be great.
You can, but don’t forget a good supply of body bags…
I’ll be having a copy of this. It’s Rambo – who cares which movies it uses? Elements from all of them, no matter how bad the movie was, would make good game play. I just hope there is a chance to shout, “Rambo, don’t [pause] do it!” I wonder if you can still ally with the Mujahideen?
Let’s hope we have enough time to save up for it 😉
seams to be a good mix of missions.
Lol, I read the book before seeing the movie so I am assuming its the movie version they are making the game from. mm
