DreadBall Goes XTreme This Friday From Mantic Games
January 22, 2015 by brennon
It's time to get down and dirty with Mantic Games on Friday as DreadBall Xtreme will be going up for pre-order! If you like your games of DreadBall with a good helping of blood and equally bloody money involved then check this one out!
More about the game...
- 2-player miniatures sport game for ages 10 and up. The average game time is 60 minutes.
- Brutal Action: No referees and no fouls makes this the deadliest DreadBall yet!
- Dangerous Environments: Play ball in abandoned warehouses and improvised arenas out of sight of the law, with pitches littered with concealed traps and explosive crates!
- Illicit Sponsors: Assume the role of Sponsor and bet, intimidate and threaten your way to victory!
- Blood Money: Create a bespoke team of your own choosing, from convicted criminals, alien Kalyshi and money-grabbing Free Agents.
...and it all sounds very cool indeed. What's good about this, apart from it being another feather in the cap of Mantic for DreadBall, is that if you don't want to play regular DreadBall you can just pick this up and play this version of the game instead. Convicts take on Asterians in a rather brutal brawl!
Will you be betting on this one?

Its a lot less predictable than normal DB and often a lot more fun! In one of our first goes at it my opponent had his striker disappear in a red mist when he stepped next to an explosive trap and was blown back into an even larger explosion.
I can’t wait for the Xpansion to be sent out with the rules for playing with any Dreadball players.
A couple of my Dreadball league buddies picked up the Kickstarter and have given Xtreme a glowing review. They’re very pleased with it indeed.
DREADBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Might have to dive into this one day.
Do love my Dreadball… my return to gaming was via Beast of War and watching Dreadball Academy. Didn’t back the kickstarter for extreme due to funds at the time. Think this is a definite purchase at some point.
