DreadBall Becomes War On The Pitch With Xtreme Xpansion
July 21, 2015 by brennon
Mantic Games are bringing war to the pitch of DreadBall with their Xtreme Xpansion where you get to bring even more massive players up from the dugouts. See what you think of them below...
Get Ready To Rumble
The latest set (which you can see below) comes with rules for making custom pitches as well as the tiles with which to do that. You also get new traps, multi-player game rules and even those big guys that will be smashing up your opponents with glee.
If you want to get a handle on the rules before you jump in and get the big set there is also a chance to buy the Rulebook itself. All of this does need a copy of DreadBall Xtreme in order to be used so make sure to catch up first.
Big Plays Need Big Players
When it comes to Xtreme you need to really bring out the big guns in order to win. With that in mind see what you think of these DreadBall Giants which include (in order) Krastavor, Chova Psychozoan, the Iron Ancestor, Sann-Gar and the Medi-Bot (for when things get painful...)
These are certainly some of the weirdest looking creatures I've ever seen for the game and while they aren't really my cup of tea I can see them being quite a fun project for DreadBall fans.
I do like the oddness of this shark chap though, the Sann-Gar. He reminds me of an action figure from the 90's and brings back memories of Street Sharks. The Medi-Bot isn't too bad either although I would have lost the stretcher on the front.
Will you be picking up any of these or indeed the full expansion for Xtreme? It seems like the game just keeps getting bigger and bigger so you have plenty to get stuck into with this game.
Do you play Xtreme?

What is wrong with the designer behind this silly shark-man? This is as bad as the hammerheads and I’m really surprised that there is no one in Mantic to make it stop 🙁
+1 for left shark
That shark man thingy if friggin mental!
Loving it!!!
I know its not to everyone’s taste, but for the more lighthearted and fun games it would be great fun.
Come on Mantic, how about a shark man faction for Deadzone / Warpath?!?!
Having got my set of giants from the KS…..the Shark guy is much better unpainted and doesn’t look as corny as it does painted……a very bad choice of colour palette, makes it look like a toy.
Grrrrrrrreeeeeeaaaaat. More things what which my wife will grind me into the floor with. My love for Dreadball is entirely unrequited, I assure you.
Doesn’t @warzan have a thing for sharkmen?
Not a fan of the Sharkman design personally, but I am a fan of ‘choice’, so it’s all good if that tickles your fancy. The Krastavor reminds me a bit of a B’omarr Spider Droid 🙂
