Loving dreadball academy! And dreadball itself in fact – just been enjoying painting up the great buzzcut model that arrived with the season 2 shipment recently 🙂 … Just a quick rules point – turning on the spot DOES lose you a throwing dice, as written in the main rule book (though it does not add anything to a slam). Having said that I’m sure I’m guilty of many rule mistakes every time I play 🙂
It’s nice to get a feel for the flow of the game with the full rules in play. I have to say, the rulebook is not the clearest I’ve encountered, and I was a little worried about play bogging down. But watching this video cleared up a lot of points, and really highlights how the card deck dramatically changes the flow of the game. I can see how some of those specialist teams (all strikers, no jacks or vice versa) get more balanced out with the addition of events and special actions. Hang on – wouldn’t Warren’s last turn have ended early because the Jack failed to catch the ball? Or does losing control of the ball like that only count if you had the dice to attempt a catch?
