RISE plants you right in the heart of the Industrial Revolution where you will be trying to advance along various tracks, hoping to influence your control of a city. You will need to govern the well-being of your citizens through culture, science and political relations but also through introducing powerful new economic boons.

The game is centred around ten tracks where you will be moving your markers from turn to turn. There is also a card mechanic in place that will throw spanners in the works through events that mean you'll need to make tough decisions. Once twelve rounds are over, the players count up their points from the tracks and see who has the most influence within the city.

I am all for a game of tracks, cubes and cards and this one seems like a game that could easily find a place on my shelf. It will be interesting to see if it provides enough of a different experience to games like Brass: Birmingham so that it fills another "Industrial Revolution" gap.

Watch out for the game coming soon...
