Delve Deeper Into Warhammer Underworlds With New Warbands
November 22, 2024 by brennon
Games Workshop are taking pre-orders for some new Warbands and additional rules that can be used to enhance your experiences in Warhammer Underworlds. Two new Warbands lead the way for the forces of Order and Chaos.
The Jaws Of Itzl // Warhammer Underworlds
The Jaws Of Itzl were separated from their Slann Starmaster in the depths of Embergard and are now seeking a way to get back to their leader by crushing everything in their way. They are a bloodthirsty and brutal Strike warband which excels at hitting hard and fast. Their scaled hides also make them tough to budge!
Fans of classic Lizardmen of old will no doubt recognise the white-skinned Saurus leader who bears a stunning resemblance to Gor-Rok. Sunblood Kro-Jax will forever be misnamed Gor-Rok I would imagine.
As well as The Jaws Of Itzl, you also have the Grandfather's Gardeners who serve the almighty Nurgle.
Grandfather's Gardeners // Warhammer Underworlds
The tunnels beneath Embergard are perfect for growing the fruit of the Garden Of Nurgle and so the Gardeners find themselves wandering the tunnels looking for anyone to listen to their specific Gardener's Question Time recording. As a Mastery warband, they use their cycle and specific rules to enhance their abilities and damage output.
The miniatures in this warband are a perfect example of why Warhammer Underworlds is a great range for hobbyists hovering on the sidelines. You can get a great warband of well-sculpted miniatures that give you a vibe of the faction as a whole. You can then put some real effort into painting them and have a finished project in a week or so.
New Warhammer Underworlds Decks
As well as the two new warbands, there are also two new Warhammer Underworlds Decks for you to check out.
Reckless Fury & Wrack And Ruin // Warhammer Underworlds
As Rivals Decks you just need to shuffle and play these right out of the box. Reckless Fury gives you a new Strike archetype for you to use during your games which suits the new Seraphon that we just looked at above. Wrack And Ruin is a Mastery Deck all about positioning and setting up traps which again suits one of the new warbands above.
You can also use these with any of the existing Warhammer Underworlds warbands out there and the decks can also be used in the Nemesis format where you do a bit of deckbuilding.
Returning Warbands
Lastly, all four of the Grand Alliance sets are available for you to pre-order this weekend if you want to pick up some of the miniatures you missed in the past. If you already have the old warbands then you can instead buy the Warbands Of Embergard card set which comes with all of the Warscrolls and Profile Cards for the warbands in the Grand Alliance sets.

If you'd like to check out the different Grand Alliance sets then you can dive into the full article from Warhammer Community HERE. Don't forget that you can also download a load more rules for warbands not covered here from their downloads section. I have been printing like mad.
Will you be checking out the new edition of Warhammer Underworlds?
