Delve Deeper Into More Stretch Goals For Dungeon Sagas
August 5, 2014 by brennon
Mantic Games have a whole bunch of stretch goals that have been added to the Dungeon Sagas Kickstarter, Dwarf King's Quest. See what you think of these additional rewards which include different heroes and of course more monsters...
First up on their unlock list was the Undead Rules for the Adventurers Companion. This allowed them to add some more creatures from the Undead Kings of War range to their dungeon crawling and it will be cool to see how Werewolves fare down in the depths!
Next up is Gabrielle Erailc who is a Human Wizard that joins your questing group as a Kickstarter exclusive. She might bear a similar resemblance to a certain Guild member from the internet.
The next to be broken was the addition of Ghosts to the dungeon repertoire and no doubt these will be haunting the very depths of that forgotten place. I quite like them although I don't quite know what's going on with the bottom of the miniature. I don't even know what that is inside their cloak.
The current target is the Legendary Heroes of Dolgarth giving you some resin collectors miniatures that give advanced versions of Rordin, Orlaf, Danor and Madriga for further on down the road. I'm a big fan of the Diablo-style Orlaf!
Have you decided to pledge?

I have already pledged for this and am as excited as everyone else, but i’ve got to say i’m a bit peeved about the imho false stretch goals. As a core offer it’s much better value to buy descent 2nd ed. Why not make the funding goal higher and offer more minis in the initial funding goal. I’m aware by the time the kickstarter is over there’ll be loads of stuff extra as there always is with mantic kickstarters, but will it reach the same amount of stuff as descent which is currently £65ish?
Massive Mantic fanboy here and even I totally agree with you. I mean I look at the initial box set for $100. who would buy it as it is? If you don’t accept that the stretch goals are truly false ‘stretches’ then you have to as this is what you are buying for your money, the stretch goals only providing more money to improve the initial product with greater funding. The fact that these models are already produced, assembled, painted and on display suggests otherwise though – how can stretch goals fund something already produced!? Nobody who has ever seen… Read more »
God even I think that sounds really negative reading it back straight away. Really not wanting to rant or complain about ‘free stuff’. I don’t care about that. It’s just the false stretch goals that have my back up I think and make me a little sad – this isn’t Mantic-like behaviour to me.
your problem is you’re looking at resin one off and thinking they’re already produced, making and painting a resin figure like they did for the Mars Attacks campaign doesn’t mean they’re produced already and we all know tooling costs are massive. That being said I do agree that the amount of figs in the initial core set is a little disappointing but I can ignore that for getting a decent dungeon crawler again, which I haven’t had since warhammer quest.
Yep, I’ll gladly concede that point with regard to producing one-off promotional/representational pieces from concepts and that does indeed make me feel a deal better, again it’s just this false stretch goal business that doesn’t sit well with me but it’s just a matter of interpretation I suppose. By the time we hit $250,000 the amount of stuff in the core box begins to merit the $100 tag I think anyway. Now we can talk REAL stretches!
The minis for this game look greater.
But this female Wizard?
It looks like a medivial prostitude to me. Is this truly the pose for the mini?
All the other minis have poses that fit to the character like creepy ghouls, a tough babarian and so.
In my opinion mantic should think this one over.
They should probably completely rethink the female wizard as it’s a not so subtle rip-off of a copyrighted character. Namely the character Codex from Felicia Day’s old web series ‘The Guild’.
It’s possible that Felicia will be plugging the kickstarter sometime in the future on either Geeks and Sundry or her facebook.
Maybe it’ll get on Tabletop?
Also it is similar to how Mercs had robocop and other “you know what it really is” kind of minis in their Recon kickstarter… which I think might fall under parody and so wouldn’t be protected. Plus I think Felicia (if she isn’t aware but I think she is) would be more on the side of “wow cool” than “wow sue screw them” …but who knows…. I just hope the mini ends up looking good…
… dude, seriously… have you seen what CMON do with Zombicide 😛 ha ha
… this is nothing 😛
It’s modeled on Felicia Day (a queen of nerdom) in her outfit for the Guild webseries (very popular a few years ago). Her character was actually a priest, but *shrug*… still the Guild is worth checking out, I think it was 6 seasons and each episode is just 5 or 10 minutes long.
The new undead troll stretch goals are very nice.
Watching this one carefully, funds should be in place but want to see where it goes. Got to admit most of the goals so far feel as if they are ‘core’ parts of the game – looking forward to seeing what unfolds
I must admit the initial offering did seem a little sparse to this multi-mantic-kickstarter addict. It took some faith (based on mantic’s excellent performance in previous KS’s), but I did pledge in the end hoping the stretch goals will pile up. I wonder if this will have put some people off, although judging by the numbers so far it should be fine – they are currently accruing pledges at a faster rate than they did with Deadzone. Which is excellent.
