Deep-Cut Studio recently added a cool new mat into their collection with an Arkham Horror Design. This is sized at 3x3 and is designed to work with the Arkham Horror Board Game plus of course the card game too. Basically, it works for anything Lovecraftian.

The design shows off the flowing river at the centre of the city which winds its way underneath overstretched bridges. Beneath the waters, strange things watch the denizens of the city and perhaps drag the unwary down into its depths.

You'll find all manner of little details on the map including key locations from Arkham plus the reaching tentacles of Cthulhu and the other Elder Gods.

I think this could be a lot of fun as a catch-all mat for anything Lovecraftian and would work for a number of different board and card games. Whilst you really don't need something like this, I think it adds to the air of awesomeness when playing a game.

You could even use this as a reference when telling stories within the city of Arkham. Maybe you're searching for a place where the players need to go and solve a mystery? If that is the case, you could just pick out a street and the players can actually then wind their way through the streets towards it!

What do you think of this mat design?
