As the calendar flipped into June, the news about things to look for at Gen Con is starting to bubble to surface.

Our friends at Megacon Games are one of the first to drop teasers about what they're bringing this year, and it looks like Myth: Dark Frontier will be in the mix!

“Dark Frontier is a cooperative adventure board game set in a desperate land of shadows. Players take on the role of iconic heroes from the world of Myth, aiding the besieged city of Farrenroc in its never-ending quest to stay the consuming Darkness.

Together the heroes must venture beyond the safety of “the Rock” in order to take back the land that has become corrupted by shadow.

By fighting back minions, rallying the support of the people, and eventually turning back an apocalyptic siege, the heroes must stand firm against the Darkness…or else the Four Kingdoms are doomed.”

“We wanted players to explore, fight monsters, collect valuable resources for their city, and build important structures in the surrounding afflicted lands to hold back the tide of invaders. Another important element that we knew we wanted in the game from the beginning is the sense of a looming Boss, commanding his minions from the shadows and biding his time until his plan violently unfolds.”

This looks like it will be a wonderful blend of adventuring and resource management, elements that they have proven to develop beautifully in their previous games.

I especially like the element of the city of Farrenroc in the center of the board. This city will be in pieces that will be removed as the city falls. If the city is ultimately lost, the adventurers lose the game.

Will you be stopping by Megacon Games at Gen Con for a look at Dark Frontier (don't worry, we'll get a look for you in the Live Blog)?
