Cyntopia Updates Scale To 28mm & Talks A.I Decks For Solo Play!
October 29, 2014 by brennon
Cyntopia: The Future Is Now is still up on Kickstarter looking for funding on their cyberpunk board game and they've been listening to the feedback from the community. One of the big changes is that they're choosing 28mm scale for their miniatures!
Miniatures likes the ones above are now going to be smaller than they originally intended meaning they now could have a use outside of the Cyntopia board game as well. All great news to us as hobbyists and they've even included a new pledge level that allows you to pick up the heroes and enemies separately from the game if that's what has drawn you in!
As well as the miniatures they have also gone into more detail about the A.I deck that will be used for solo-play. Decks will govern how each of the new enemies move on the tabletop as well as giving you a random mission to take on and developing the special rules of enemies each time you play.
The system reminds me a little bit of the one used in the dungeon crawling games Wrath of Ashardalon and Castle Ravenloft whereby the creatures would act according to a few basic prompts on the cards dependent on the situation. It's a simple and effective system.

With an ambitious target of $125,000 they need to make more smart moves like this. Latest of a long line of mini-based board games going through KS…
There are still some trumps in our sleeve and we’ll see, how things turn during the campaign.
I hope that if it doesn’t succeed they gather more feedback and do a rerun, is something very unique that feels a void in the hobby spectrum and i really want to get it once i have the spare money … and most of my minis that already have painted.
In the current state we don’t want to think about a rerun and focus on this campaign and as always thank you for your kind words Edgewalker vondrasky.
