Conquer Your Fjord In Gigamic’s Looot Later This Year
January 23, 2024 by brennon
Gigamic has another fun board game coming out later this year with a strategic Viking vibe to it. Looot looks to be a quick and fun game for you to dive into where you're looking to loot resources and help build up your settlement in your fjord.
Looot // Gigamic
During the game, you will be gathering resources and capturing buildings as you look to add to your fjord. You can fill your longship up, complete construction sites and conquer the lands as you seek to become the richest Viking. If you come out on top, you'll be crowned Jarl of all Vikings!
Looot Components // Gigamic
During the game, you'll have to each turn drop a Viking onto the board. Based on the random placement of different tiles, you'll be looking to aim to take different areas of the board and the resources that they give you. Capturing different buildings on the board, houses, watchtowers and castles can be done by fulfilling specific placement of Vikings. Some are captured by simple adjacency whilst others can be done by linking locations or creating a string of your colour of Viking on the board.
You will also be able to use shield abilities to get special bonuses and claim trophies which will help you as you seek to get to the end of the game with the most victory points. At the end of the game, the winner is calculated by the capturing of all those locations as well as the amount of gold, sheep, wood and more that you've accrued plus trophies and the like. You'll also need to fill your longships because if you don't, you lose five points!
Looot seems like a fun addition to the Gigamic collection that sits alongside other games like Akropolis which is a very fun game. Looot only takes thirty-five minutes to play so I'm very much intrigued as this could slot well into my collection.
Will you be scooping this up this year?
