Combine Letters To Create Alchemical Creations In WordCraft

Artipia Games are gearing up for Spiel 2022, announcing an upcoming medieval wordplay title set in 1420 ready to launch at the event. WordCraft is now on pre-order encouraging players to join the Society of Alchemists on the hunt to create new formulas to be the best in the biz.

Combining the mediums of strategy and wordplay; players will be challenged to craft words by meeting a series of objectives, scrambling and de-scrambling the English language to create high-value words to rake in experience points. A little like scrabble, creating any word is fine, but there will be rare letters that come into play which earn players more experience.

"The 26 letters of the English alphabet are separated in 5 categories based on the frequency they appear in the English vocabulary. On each of the 3 rounds of the game, only some letters from each category will be available for the players to use them. On their turn, they form words with the available letters and they indicate which letters they used by placing cubes on the Letter cards. By the end of the round, only the players with the majority of the cubes on each Letter card will score experience points." - Artipia Games

Placing strategy to the forefront, players will be heading out to the marketplace, checking out each vendor's goods to develop new recipes to prove to be the most capable alchemist. Taking place in a European city, the need to discover is upon each player - all fighting to prove that they are most capable in their fields - to explore 26 new ingredients from the Far East ready to master and synthesize into experience points.

I thoroughly enjoy word games, especially ones that require strategy and stepping away from the linear with different options to rack in points. The game takes up to 40 minutes to play, with any gamer over the age of 14 invited to get involved in the alchemy!
