Fantasy Flight Games are looking ahead to new horizons when it comes to Star Wars: Destiny. Slated in the coming months we have Legacies, a new series of booster packs AND Starter Sets for you to get stuck into this game.

The selection focuses in on some of the big name characters from the world of Star Wars with the two main Starter Sets focusing on both Luke Skywalker & Han Solo...

...and the deadly bounty hunter Boba Fett as he fights alongside a Veteran Stormtrooper.

For me, not only are the cards a fascinating new leap into the game when it comes to mechanics and their abilities, but I LOVE that Fantasy Flight Games aren't locking so many of the key Star Wars characters behind the wall of the Legendary pull from a booster pack.

It's nice that everyone is going to have a Luke, Han and Boba Fett in their collection. You might have also noticed a new symbol on the Veteran Stormtrooper card. This new set introduces Indirect Damage as a concept.

You can see it more here across the cards for the Resistance Bomber and Doctor Aphra. Indirect damage is applied however your opponent sees fit across characters, and it could even end up on your own, triggering special abilities like the one Aphra has.

It might seem counterintuitive to hurt your own characters but if you can make a deck around this concept it could have some very interesting tactics down the line. You might have also spotted the awesome version of Obi-Wan Kenobi which will be coming in this next set.

Featuring the legendary Jedi (who shouldn't be hard to come by either due to his rarity) this shows off Obi-Wan Kenobi during his prime and hopefully means we're going to see a lot more Clone Wars era cards as well to be matched against him. Bring on Battle Droids and more!

Plots & Schemes

As well as the new Indirect damage rules we also have these new Plot Cards becoming part of decks. Sometimes when you just can't fill out that thirty point character pool it gets frustrating as you feel like you're wasting efficient character space. Well, Plot Cards are used to fill the gaps after you've bought characters and will give you an in-game benefit.

As you can imagine these could be very useful. Profitable Connections in conjunction with Lando Calrissian means you could end up starting the game with four resources in your pool rather than two opening up all manner of cool options.

Overall, this is looking great and I can see myself already spending far too much on this again.
