Battle Eldritch Threats In CMON’s Cthulhu: Death May Die
December 2, 2019 by brennon
CMON has now released their project from the minds of Rob Daviau and Eric M. Lang, Cthulhu: Death May Die. Illustrated by Adrian Smith and Karl Kopinski, this one to five-player game has you taking on the terrible cosmic forces of Cthulhu and friends.
The final ritual has begun in this game from CMON and whilst it cannot be stopped you can still foil the plans of these Elder Gods and their minions. Now, rather than having to riddle their way through puzzles and plots the Investigators need to do what they can. What they can do is shoot it in the face.
You can still make a difference, finding clues as to how to defeat their foe whilst also disrupting the crackling ritual which brought the Elder God into being. Using a mix of different elements of adventuring board games you'll be fighting, searching, and trying to keep their minds intact just as in any good Cthulhu game.
Played out over six different episodes which use the modular tiles from the core box you'll also get some rather epic looking miniatures. CMON could make these in their sleep now so it's not surprising they're in the box.
Do you think you'll be giving this a go?

the figures look fantastic.
Preferred the Cthulhu Wars figures. I’m a sucker for the classic look, even though most mythos figures had little, or even no, description by HPL (and some were added by later authors).
It’s kind of hard to represent the unknowable in plastic, but they do look good. I like to imagine that the Lovecraftian creatures are wearing a meat suit pulled together from local reality to allow them to interact with the local world, like the Archons in Grant Morrison’s the Invisibles or Demons in 40K. Cthulhu’s dragon/octopus form is just a giant space suit.
They had me at “nun with a gun”
Mine arrived saturday, the kickstarter… nearly done painting the monsters, once the 10 heroes are painted i can play my first game… i never play with unpainted…!!! the curse…
