Check Out Frank Miller’s Batman For Gotham City Chronicles
January 5, 2018 by brennon
Monolith has shown off one of the alternative sculpts that will be available during the Kickstarter for Batman: Gotham City Chronicles. See what you think of this Frank Miller inspired sculpt...
Showing an older and more brutal Batman this take on the Caped Crusader is from a darker period in his history.
This isn't the kind of Batman that I personally like but it is certainly an interesting take on him. Maybe it will spawn some new additions to the Kickstarter campaign with optional enemies, allies and maybe even a super bad guy too.
Alternative Art
There is also some alternative art for the game cover that you can check out...
This was by Jae Lee and will be one of the options that you can look to add to the mix when the game hits Kickstarter. It shows off Batman and his allies facing off against Bane and his goons.
Are you going to be backing this campaign?

Fatman having a dump?
Actually a good depicting of a highly trained old man. He looks like an old wrestler or boxer that still spends tons of time in the gym. And probably has a body that would have serious trouble once he stopped working out.
Looks like Batman has been hitting the gym with Han and Luke as spotters

Hehehe 😀 Oh you guys!
love it, but then I love the Millar Batman and the shit kicking he handed out to the blue boyscout.
Here’s hoping for a superman on his knees with Batmans hands about his throat mini diorama 🙂
Cheers to that mate!
People usually forget that Superman could had killed Batman but he didn’t even want to kill his friend. Also people forget that he was also already wounded by that kryptonite arrow that Green Arrow shot. That makes him bigger man in my eyes than Batman. Besides I don’t get why Superman gets so much hate when he is far better character in comic books than most give him credit. One of best stories about him is All-Star Superman that gives really good picture what he is really like.
when exactly could he have killed him? He was sent there by Regan to finish off Batman, the kryptonite arrow was all part of batman’s plan and superman had become a right wing puppet of the government which is why Batman was fighting against him I have no problem with him as a character, I just prefer Batman, and that story in particular is excellent. Red Son is a classic story, I loved the Death of Superman arc, but he’s very two dimensional a lot of the time and it’s hard to make him an compelling character when he rarely… Read more »
Each of they own. Personally I find Batman these days to be rather two dimensional character thanks to way he is written and how he is always put over but then again from Trinity I prefer Wonder Woman over both. To be fair I have never found Batman to be interesting beyond very good Bruce Timm animated universe (IMO Kevin Conroy is best Batman).
to be fair Dark Knight was in the 80s not sure how they pan out these days and I have little time to devote to comics now.
I’m not much of a superhero nerd but Frank Miller is about my favourite comic artist. Bats just got a lot more interesting!
Whether the KS gets backed by me depends on how much it will split my wallet. And… after as much as I plopped down for the Conan KS, I was rather disappointed in the quality of its minis. These do look better than Conan’s, but….
Price wise, $130 for the base game. If your a “gotta have it all” kinda person, $300 for the lot
@badgerthebrave Thanks for the price update, I’m interested in this but don’t have time to follow it specifically. $130 for the base game is more than Conan but not by much and $300 for the lot seems like a reasonable pricepoint depending on the options and add-ins. I doubt it will get to the extent that Conan and MB:P did but value is in the eye of the beholder and I’m a Batman fan. I’m in.
It will be more expensive. Batman is an expensive licence compared to Conan.
I haven’t liked many of the recent teasers but I do like this one. The pose is something out of The Dark Knight Returns and I think it shows that incarnation of the character pretty well. Old, over doing the weights and beat to hell but still not going down. Particularly like the sharpened batarangs gripped in his fist.
I hate saying it but I haven’t really liked any of the miniatures (or renders) I’ve seen for this game so far. I will definitely take a look at the game when the time comes.
As a huge DC fan and fan of the Batman Miniature Game, as well as liking a lot of Monolith’s stuff, most of these renders kinda… suck.
Wait till you see batwoman… it is way worse.
Do you have a link to it @rickyard ?
Here it is on the FB page. Im not really sold on it. The pose is more an odd caricature.
