Chaos Dwarfs Hit The Blood Bowl Pitch With New Team
August 29, 2024 by brennon
Games Workshop dropped a Blood Bowl reveal this week covering a new team with a fearsome reputation. The Chaos Dwarfs might not have made their way to Warhammer Age Of Sigmar just yet but they are getting ready for a bit of Fantasy Football.

The new team are the Zharr-Naggrund Ziggurats and the sculpts are looking great. They are a good mix of classic vibes alongside new and updated sculpting techniques. Games Workshop's design teams seem to always knock it out of the park with their "specialist games" and this Blood Bowl team is no different.
At the core of your team are the Chaos Dwarfs themselves who will be laying out your opponents with some seriously brutal blocks.

If you want to cause more chaos (pun intended), you can also use your Flamesmiths to set the ball carrier alight and generally cause a lot of pain. I like that one of them is holding his finger up so his opponent waits before he covers him in sticky, flaming liquid.

The vast majority of your team will also be likely made up of some of the Chaos Dwarfs' allies in the form of the Hobgoblins. These sneaky fellows work as your Linesmen and will be plugging the gaps in your defence whilst the Chaos Dwarfs do the business.

Some of them have added some new sports equipment to their kit though in the form of these Sneaky Stabbas. When the referee isn't looking, these Hobgoblins will be making sure that your opponent's players are out for the season with a case of "dead".

Last but not least, the plastic team is going to be supplemented by some Big Guys and these Bull Centaurs which will come in Forge World resin.

A solid way for you to add some speed to your rather slow and ponderous Chaos Dwarf team. I wouldn't like to get in the way of a blitzing Bull Centaur who has their eyes set on the endzone.
All of the rules for the Chaos Dwarfs will come in a new Spike Journal that will get you up to speed with the current tactics that Blood Bowl coaches will need to master.
Will you be getting your hands on the Blood Bowl Chaos Dwarfs?

You don’t “drop” in BB. You “fumble” XD
You don’t fumble down dead.. although it is insult to the injury if it happens when you ‘Go for it’
I really like the design upgrade, even if the Chaos Dwarfs look like papalists with their new hat!
Love them!
Never bought an official GW Chorf team before (I have a 3rd party team somewhere), and I must say I love these!
Was going to buy the Greebo Team at one point but the price put me off.
Although once you factor in the inevitable 3 star players, and the 2 Resin Bull Centaurs, plus Spike! magazine, dice and pitch, this lot will probably cost at 200!
I reckon I will get the dice, pitch, and Spike! and then pick up the team and other players over the next few months.
Love em
I kinda like em but needs bigger hats!
Make ’em like the Napoleonic chapska!
The Gnomes got me back into Bloodbowl, and the Chaos Dwarfs look to be my next purchase – awesome release!
The models do look amazing not 100% sure on the new hats but they are certainly not bad.
I had a rather large old Chaos Dwarf army, and the massive stovepipes were cool, but I think the new take is totally good too!
Considered the new hats and I’m still in for the old ones in how chunky they were. These have gotten the same treatment as the Thousand Sons Rubric Marines.
Actually that’s a good comparison. Still, I like these!
The Gnomes were cool. So are these.
Yeah GW’s BB range certainly kicked up a gear when they hired that fella who was behind the Winzor Cog mini range – and I am certain its still him ploughing alone furrow, which may explain why it takes an age for anything Blood Bowl to get previewed / released.
Not sure if I like the new hats, but just seeing GW doing ANYthing Chaos Dwarf-related is cause for celebration with me. I love this faction and wish they hadn’t disappeared from Fantasy.
