Tabletop Favourite Carcassonne Gets A Star Wars Makeover
February 3, 2015 by brennon
Board Game Geek spotted this little gem of a find when they were at a recent convention. Carcassonne, a great gateway game of tile laying and general fun times, is getting the Star Wars treatment and you can check out how it looks right now...
Roads have been replaced by star lanes I would imagine with planets taking the place of new 'towns' in the game. The matching seems to come from the way those clusters are presented so it will be interesting to see how the rules change to fit with the new setting.
The basic game of Carcassonne is great but I wouldn't have thought that it would work in this way so the rules are probably going to get a neat update to make it more Star wars.
Hopefully we'll hear more about this soon!
Nice – Just found the SW monopoly I did buy a few years ago
might have to find this one
Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddddddd !!!!!
Carcassonne is a gaming staple in my household. =) I think this version, however, would be great for introducing newer players who may not be into the medieval setting games.
Looks good.
Would guess planets replace churches and nebulas the towns.
Ah you are probably right there! Didn’t think of that!
BoW Ben
I would have thought an “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” would have been more appropriate than Star Wars tbh
Carcassonne … Carcass Own….
*crickets*
HERESY!!!
Ugh, I really wish someone competent would get the Star Wars boardgame license. Rebadging old games is such low effort bullshit. If I wanted to play Carcassonne I’d have bought the big box edition, not waited for it to have planets instead of churches. Seriously, give it to someone whose going to do something new and interesting with it, something like War of the Ring or Game of Thrones.
But then I guess a thousand different versions of Star Wars Monopoly is what brings in the money.
