Dark Souls Board Game Details Revealed
April 12, 2016 by brennon
Steamforged Games have revealed more details of their Dark Souls Board Game which is coming soon to Kickstarter. They also shared this image of two bosses from the game, Smough & Ornstein...
These are a pair of deadly foes and they are pretty hard to take down. Fantastic looking characters though and certainly an interesting gauntlet to throw down as to the quality of the models we could be seeing. Hopefully we'll get past renders soon!
What's The Game About?
Here's what we know from their latest preview...
"Designed from the ground up, the Dark Souls board game is a brutally hard exploration miniatures game for 1-4 players. Prepare to die. Because this will be the hardest board game you have ever played."
The idea of the gameplay is that it will be part of a 'fast setup and long reveal' where you will be exploring ruins and battling enemy bosses and other creatures using strategy and clever management of stamina.
"The game will ship with numerous boss and mini-boss encounters, and as mentioned above, will utilize an innovative behavior mechanic that will mean no two encounters are ever the same, thus giving the game near infinite replayability."
All of the Dark Souls world will be available to them so that means hopefully some of the foes from Dark Souls III too. I for one cannot wait to see where this game goes!
Will you be following this one?

I am really looking forward to this. I love everything about guild ball from the models, to the rules and fluff. I am really looking forward to this Kickstarter and plan on backing it from the beginning. I hope the miniatures are 30mm though to match up with the scale of guild ball because I have also been using my guild ball minis for frostgrave and would like to be able to use these as well.
Even if the game play is terrible, I will appropriate the minis for Kingdom Death Monster since that’s already like playing Souls.
Lovely games! I must admit I’m a bit sceptical as to how the games can be adapted into board games but I’ll keep an eye on this KS for sure!
Try out Kingdom Death Monster. It is rather Dark Soulsy
I’d love to if it was half the price =)
Sweet. Now I really want to back this kickstarter.
Now that’s a hammer!
just spent a hundred quid on the collectors dark souls 3 box, best wait till retail for this one
I hope steamforged games has some of these models on show at Salute 🙂
Those look rather nice.
I already thought we had a Dark Souls game… Hasn’t anyone played Kingdoms Death?
Hope they make a Seath the Scaless model.
That is a nice range that has a Kingdom Death meets Alice in Wonderland.
Table tossing time!!
