Blood Bowl II Is Looking Very Snazzy Indeed
November 2, 2013 by brennon
Blood Bowl II from Cyanide Games is actually looking, and by looking I mean graphically, like it could be a really welcome return to console and PC. Check out the screenshots below.
As you can see the game is boasting some impressive visuals this time around. Everything looks cleaner and crisper and it brings the vibrance of the Blood Bowl world to life well. This is certainly something that the original game lacked.
The animation teaser for Bob Bifford also shows us that there should be a lot more effort going into the animation of the players hopefully giving them some real connection when you play. I'd like things to be a bit more involved when players clash instead of an awkward animation that makes someone stumble.
Also look at that crowd, there actually is one, and it's massive and seems to be filled with character! Great!
I hold out hope for this to be a neat return to form and I imagine the Polaris channel on Youtube will be playing another league of this.
Something to look out for.

I really want one for Dreadball more than another Blood Bowl but is cool anyway.
Have you heard of Frozen Endzone? It’s made by the same team that did Frozen Synapse. As soon as I saw the gameplay trailer for it, I immediately thought, “This would be awesome reimagined as a Dreadball videogame.” http://www.frozenendzone.com/
i hope they make the commands clearer than they did on the first game
I played it on 360 and I couldn’t see a single thing I was looking at text wise…
BoW Ben
The 360 version was shoddy to say the least. It looked worse than the PC version although the reason for this I don’t know. As mentioned, you couldn’t read the text all that well, which is a bit of an issue considering what BB is. The 360 version wasn’t all that successful either, but I’m going to say that was down to greed in thinking you could charge people full price (or the same price as the AAA games) and they’d buy it. What with it being the first BB game as well, there weren’t that many teams either. It… Read more »
I also hope they make it available for Mac…
That render of Bob’s head reminds me of the Team Fortress 2 heavy weapons guy.
Anyhoo, I’m hoping this one will be a bit easier to get into than the first one. The confusion when I first played it was rather overwhelming and I didn’t win a single game. I’m probably just horribly inept but, I hope the 2nd one will be easier to get into.
You really needed to know how to play the original boardgame to play it… There wasn’t any explanation anywhere… I remember teaching a friend of mine to play the boardgame so he could play the video game with at least a little success.
I will buy it if… unlike the 3 existing versions they a) include all the stars, or failing that the useful ones, b) do the rules correctly (they still haven’t implemented them all), c) include all the teams or at least have a commitment to do them all and d) have nowhere near the level of bugs.
