Take On The Bespin Gambit For Star Wars: Imperial Assault
March 6, 2016 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games continue to expand upon the world of Star Wars: Imperial Assault with The Bespin Gambit which looks like it's going to be taking the struggle against The Empire to Cloud City where things are getting dangerous...
"In The Bespin Gambit, you’ll find a wealth of new content to take your campaigns and skirmishes into the ritzy hotels and industrial underworks of Cloud City. Iconic characters like Bossk and Lando Calrissian join the game for the first time, gorgeous new map tiles portray some of the most memorable Cloud City locations, while new companions and a new condition change the flow every game."
Inside here you get two new Heroes, one new Imperial Class, new items, a new mini-campaign which is always awesome, and a focus on Spy characters. There are also going to be more character packs for you to pick up which help expand on those cardboard tokens you see in the expansion above.
Model-wise the characters are looking awesome and we have both Davith Else who will act as a new Jedi character alongside Murne Rin spying behind the scenes.
I talked about this during the Awards but I think one of the big draws to Imperial Assault, as well as it being Star Wars, is that they have created so many more original characters to fit into the background. It would feel somewhat boring to just be playing the same movie characters over and over again so this gives you a sense or things being your own.
What do you think?

Agreed. If all we did was play the movie characters the game would become stale very quickly.
I will definitely be taking a look at this when it comes out.
This does look a like a lot of fun. I like the Ithorian spy/diplomat
Very nice.
Looking forward to looking my players dead in the eyes and saying “You just got Bossked.”

Not a fan of the missions/campaign version but just started the skirmish game. Heading off to a Store Championship on Sunday.
New and more characters are always a welcome. I really need to set aside some time to finish painting the rest of what I have. Don’t want things piling up, heh.
I have an instant affinity for all these figures – from childhood play and Robot Chicken
my GW hobby funds are getting diverted again 🙂
I´m thinking of getting the core game. Good prize at a local store. And the new minis are great, just for painting them.
